Den andra delen utgör en sammanställning över den skyddade bebyggelsen och parker inom och i direkt anslutning till den aktuella Översiktsplanen. Fyra gårdar har funnit i området; Fredriksdal, Ståthöga och längre bort Ingelstad och Marieborg. Namnet Butängen har flera förklaringar, den mest förekommande förklaringen är att namnet kommer från ”butar ” – vilket var namnet på de kuskar som skötte transporterna från de kringliggande bruken. Kuskarna hade sina bostäder vid nuvarande Butgatan och under lång tid var det på Butängen som hästarna betade.
