The event took place Friday, April 19th and was a tremendous suc- cess. The Contact: event was also able to raise 1,702 dollars for future Sport Management student scholarships with the live and silent auctions. Items from the auction included; an autographed Joe Mauer photo with Twins tickets, an autographed Chris- Brandon at, tian Ponder jersey with Vikings tickets, along with many more items. A special thanks to Kaylee Kulich and Brandon Grengs for all of their help putting on the brandon.grengs@ event as well as all of the work they have put into making the program what it is today. mnsu.edu Many students this year have done outstanding things that have helped the program become one of the best in the Midwest. For all the students that are in sport management and are graduating this spring we want to give you all a big thank you and wish you the best of luck in the future! The Featured Rookie for May is Christian Harrison. Christian grew up right here in the state of Minnesota and fol- lows his favorite sport team the . One dream job that he would like to land someday would be a Featured Rookie - Christian Harrison- New Brighton, Minn - Senior player agent or an athletic director. With these dreams in sight and his hard work and dedication, there is no doubt that Christian can accomplish these goals. . This summer he will be interning with the Minnesota Vikings at their training camp. As Christian continues his college career here at MSU we wish him all the best and we know that

Andrea grew up in Bloomington, MN and is the Leading Lady for the Sport Management Newsletter this May! Since high school, Andrea has known she wanted to have a career in the sport industry. With an interest in sport management, Leading Lady - Andrea Connelly- Bloomington, Minn. - Junior she knew it would be of her best interest to further her education from a school with such a great reputation, Minnesota State University. With her time here, she has been getting involved and making a difference in the program. Some ad- vice that she would share to young up and coming ladies that want to pursue a career in sports is, “If you work hard and prove to others that you are capable of the responsibilities of working in the sport industry then you will gain respect”.

“Follow your dreams no matter what, even if that means stepping out of your comfort zone”. The Sport Management Program is proud to announce that Matthew Wright is the Student Spotlight for May. Matthew was born in raised in the Student Spotlight - Matthew Wright -Omaha,Nebraska - BS’ 06 state of Nebraska and has known he has wanted a career in sports since his senior year of high school. Matt has an array of opportunities ahead of him. This summer, he will be the marketing intern with the athletic department here at MSU. In August he will be going back to his home state and will be an intern for the University of Nebraska, working in the sports marketing department along with assisting in day-to-day work and game days. Keep up the great work Matt!!

The Star Alumni for the 2013-2014 Sport Management News Letter goes to Tim Raskovich! He graduated from MSU in 2012 and has been in the sport industry making a name for himself. Tim currently resides in Dallas, Texas and is working Star Alumni - Tim Raskovich - Columbia Heights,Minn - BS’12 for the team, FC Dallas. He is the Corporate Sales Executive for the team and hopes one day he can get the opportunity to be VP of ticket sales with an expansion team in Minnesota. Tim has done some great things while attending MSU and is carrying on the great tradition that all MSU grads have when getting jobs in the sport industry.
