Szeretettel várjuk mindnyájukat a 23. Nemzetközi Bartók Fesztivál rendez- vényein! Igric György fesztivál-igazgató IMPROVISATION IN FOCUS Dear Music Lovers, The Bartók Festival bears the motto „Bartók – New Music” and indeed, this subject-matter has determined its programme for years. This summer we try to demonstrate what improvisation means in Bartók’s oeuvre and in new music, in various jazz genres and in folk music. Moreover, young composers attending the composition master class will use improvisation as a means of expression. At the beginning and the end of the Festival programme Béla Bartók’s two important compositions (Concerto and Music …) will be performed. In between, in the course of the concerts, Kodály’s and Stravinsky’s anniver- saries will also be commemorated. Excellent guest artists account for the high artistic rank of the busy and colourful programme offer and give us hope that everybody will find events to comply with their interests. We look forward to meeting you at the events of the 23. International Bartók Festival. A kortárs zene elõadásában is élen jár a Savaria Szimfonikus Zenekar.
