The caribbean Island in northeast Venezuela is a perfect alternative to quite Los Roques in case you prefer nightlife next to one of the 50 beaches. The most popular is Playa El Yaque welln known as one of the most important sports for windsurfing in the world. Other popular beaches are Playa Parguito, Playa Caribe, Playa Punta Arenas, Playa El Agua and Playa Puerto Cruz.Margarita Island will be the venue for the 2014 Caribbean Series. This will be the second time Margarita Island has hosted the Series, the highest baseball tournament at club level in Latin America. From Caracas: Direct flight to Porlamar From Orinoco Delta: Buses and taxis leave from Maturin to Puerto de la Cruz, from there you take a ferry to Porlamar.
