Ministry of Statistics & PISummary Record of Proceedings of Open House Discussion on MPLAD Scheme with Hon’ble Members of Lok Sabha Venue, MP: 07th and 08th January, 2019 at Auditorium, 2nd Floor, New Extension Building, Parliament House Annexe, New Delhi 1. Open house discussion on MPLAD Scheme with Hon’ble Members of Lok Sabha was convened on 7th and 08th January, 2019 at the Auditorium, 2nd Floor, New Extension Building, Parliament House Annexe, New Delhi on the initiative of Shri Vijay Goel, Hon’ble MoS for Statistics and Programme Implementation. Shri Pravin Srivastava, Secretary, M/o Statistics and Programme Implementation and Shri Dinesh Kumar, Deputy Director General (PI) were also present. The list of Members invited for the discussions was divided into two groups. On 7th January, 2019, Members from the States of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal and Gujarat were invited while the Members from the remaining States were invited on 08th Jan, 2019. The list of Hon’ble Members who participated in the discussions is attached as Annex-I. 2. Secretary, MOSPI welcomed and apprised the Hon’ble Members that this discussion is first of its kind for Lok Sabha Members of Parliament. He emphasized that the free flow of ideas and suggestions of Hon’ble Members during the discussions help the Ministry richer in making the Scheme better and shall serve as template for the successors. Government of India Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation Godavari River Management Board, Hyderabad ANNUAL REPORT 2016-17 ANNUAL REPORT 2016-17 GODAVARI RIVER MANAGEMENT BOARD th 5 Floor, Jalasoudha, ErrumManzil, Hyderabad- 500082 PREFACE It is our pleasure to bring out the first Annual Report of the Godavari River Management Board (GRMB) for the year 2016-17. The events during the past two years 2014-15 and 2015-16 after constitution of GRMB are briefed at a glance. The Report gives an insight into the functions and activities of GRMB and Organisation Structure. In pursuance of the A.P. Reorganization Act, 2014, Central Government constituted GRMB on 28th May, 2014 with autonomous status under the administrative control of Central Government. GRMB consists of Chairperson, Member Secretary and Member (Power) appointed by the Central Government and one Technical Member and one Administrative Member nominated by each of the Successor State. The headquarters of GRMB is at Hyderabad. GRMB shall ordinarily exercise jurisdiction on Godavari river in the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in regard to any of the projects over head works (barrages, dams, reservoirs, regulating structures), part of canal network and transmission lines necessary to deliver water or power to the States concerned, as may be notified by the Central Government, having regard to the awards, if any, made by the Tribunals constituted under the Inter-State River Water Disputes Act, 1956. During the year 2016-17, GRMB was headed by Shri Ram Saran, as the Chairperson till 31st December, 2016, succeeded by Shri S. K. Haldar, Chief Engineer, NBO, CWC, Bhopal as in-charge Chairperson from 4th January, 2017.
