General overview

•Programme: Erasmus+, KA2 –Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education •Duration: 36 months Starting date : 15/10/2016 End : 14/10/2019 •Partnership: 8 Tunisian universities; Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education; 5 EU partners •Beneficiary country: •Grant awarded: € 688,000

Objectives

•Wider objective: To improve the match between university education and labour market requirements inTunisia •Specific objectives: To build Tunisian capacities by transferring EU best practices on graduates' employability and monitoring university performance To enhance the empowerment of Tunisian universities To strengthen university/labour market linkages To increase the collaboration among universities at local level To support an "open" market for highly qualified human capital To improve the quality of the education system in Tunisia in line with international standards.

WP 1 Research Planning, Design

WP 1 focuses on assessing the existing Tunisian web platform with the support of three user categories: university staff, students already registered in the platform, firms The aim To refine and extend the Tunisian web platform, created under the previous ISLAH project (Instrument to Support LAbour market and Higher education) for better matching of labour demand and supply TOOLS Online questionnaire, filled in by university students about their university experience and skills acquired. The system matches the questionnaire data with the university data to generate graduate CVs, that firms can consult to find the candidate that best fits their recruitment requirements.

WP 2 Capacity Transfer and web Platform Integration

WP2 focuses on the training of the IT staff in the basic technical requirements for the integration of the web platform within a proper job market place.

The Aim integration of the placement system of university newcomers into the upgraded version of the web platform. TOOLS First training of the IT staff of the newcomers by their counterparts from universities of Monastir, Jendouba, Gabes and Gafsa, in collaboration with AlmaLaurea IT staff. Second training module will be delivered by the university staff to the newcomers’ career offices to define the most viable strategies to raise the population of the graduate database.

WP 3 Monitoring tools for quality assurance

WP3 concerns setting up the quality assurance tools to support the ongoing reform process of the Tunisian HE system.

The Aim To define relevant indicators for the profile questionnaire. Its structure will provide information on graduates’ socio-economic background and the internal efficiency of universities.

TOOLS The profile emerging from the questionnaire will provide information on graduates’ professional experiences, university-to-work transition dynamics, professional mobility, employment conditions and perspectives.

WP 4 Capacity building on university/enterprise cooperation

WP4 concerns the transfer of know-how from EU partners to the Tunisian universities. The aim To endow Tunisian university staff with new skills in order to integrate web platform-related services with further opportunities for students and firms. TOOLS Two training sessions focused on: •the transfer of EU partners’ expertise to empower graduates and support them to prepare CVs and for job interviews •The selection of human capital to be provided to firms •The promotion of employer branding of the firms involved.
