Mar 25 Banquet meeting Mark R. Cole, Vice-President of the Friends of the Ticket prep Leadville National Fish Hatchery, and Ed Stege, Hatchery High Country Bank Highway 24 North. Buena Vista 12 Manager, will present a talk on the Leadville National noon Fish Hatchery, which celebrates its 125th anniversary this year. The talk will cover the hatchery's mission, April 4-6 Colorado TU spring Conference history, current operations, recreation, education, Redstone, CO. heritage tourism, the Friends group, and its economic impact. Recently the USFWS has issued a report on the April 12-13 Home & Garden Show hatchery system and the Leadville Hatchery is Chaffee Fairgrounds threatened with potential closure. The rest of the talk will be focused on the potential closure, its effects and efforts to prevent its occurrence.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR 2014 CADDIS FESTIVAL BANQUET

Planning for the 2014 Caddis Festival in underway. The Caddis Festival is the Collegiate Peak Angler Trout Unlimited Chapter's only fund-raiser and will be held at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds on May 3, 2014. The money raised from this event supports many chapter projects, including stream restoration, educational activities, scholarships, and the Kid's Fishing Derbies in Salida and Buena Vista.

We need you and other Chapter members to help with this event. There are a number of ways you can be a part of this effort.

1. Join the Banquet Committee for planning for the Caddis Festival. 2. Consider becoming a sponsor when you receive the letter announcing the event. 3. Donate something for the silent or live auction (preparing a gourmet dinner, providing a gift certificate, donating your art or handicraft items, flies you have tied, trips you will guide). 4. Participate in the solicitation for donations or sponsorships from local businesses. 5. Order your tickets when they letter comes in the mail (you can donate your tickets if you can't attend; we can use them for VIPs and other invited guests). 6. Help with the set-up for the Caddis Festival on either or both May 2nd and 3rd at the Chaffee County Fairgrounds 7. Serve as a greeter or sell raffle tickets at the Caddis Festival.

2014 Fly Gals Bug Clinic

When: Friday March 21, 2013 Location: BuenaVista Library 131 Linderman Avenue Time: 12:00 - 4:30 Reservations: Contact Barbara Plake at 395-0478 or email [email protected] by March 15. Registration is limited.

Dan Stockton, Collegiate Peaks Anglers TU member and local fly fishing guide will lead the program. Ark Anglers will provide lunch. Dan will provide an overview of the bugs found in the Arkansas River. He'll talk about their life cycle and show us flies that can be used to imitate them for fly-fishing. This is great information for successful fly-fishing. In additional to learning a lot, it will be an opportunity for the Fly Gals to socialize.
