DAKSH 7 –ENVISAGE-MAYABAZAR

THEME OF THE EVENT: HOW THE NEW BRAND AND PRODUCT CAN BE MARKETED.

1.1.1 EVENT RELATION WITH MAHABARATHA THEME:

In MAHABARATHA, Sasirekha Parinayam is a well-known folk tale. When Sasirekha, daughter of unwillingly accepted to marry Lakshmana kumara, Ghatodhgaja steps in to help sasirekha. Then he creates a bazar named MAYABAZAR with superficial products to attract the people who came to the marriage. All the products that have been sold during the marriage will disappear after Sasirekha got married to .

HOW WE RELATE THIS EPIC WITH EVENT “MAYABAZAR”

Here the participants are considered as team of Ghatodhgaja. The participants have to come up with new innovative ideas and have to establish their own brand during the DAKSH7. They have to present their ideas and attract people by their Marketing capabilities. As the MAYABAZAR got disappeared after marriage, the brands that participants have established and publicised and the products will be disappeared. In essence these superficial products will last only during period of DAKSH 7.

THE BRAND OR PRODUCT SHOULD BE: 1. New to the market. 2. Even the type of product is not seen till now. 3. The product should be marketed under the new brand name. FIRST ROUND: 1) Participants can have their own product which has to be marketed. 2) The technical aspects or features of the product should be decided by the participant only. 3) If participant is not able to come up with a new product, a list of products will be placed and from that list participants can select a product under their own brand name. 4) And participant is supposed to give a presentation by using any mean which should be reliable and feasible. 5) And in the presentation they should mention (i) The product and brand details-with features and specifications of the product (ii) Step down communication method which they use for marketing. (iii) Viral marketing for the product. (iv) Financial statement required for the product. (v) Budget information and Source of income for new brand-detailed outline should be given (vi) Usage of the product. (vii) Advertisement strategies like media, newspapers, poster, banner, e-mail advertisement, pop-up advertisement. (viii) Manufacturing and sales details. (ix) Profit estimation for the next 2 years for the product.

(x) No of employee-- The Company required during the start. (xi) Balance sheet should be prepared for overall process.

FOR EVERY POINT OR METHOD CHOOSEN SHOULD BE GIVEN WITH PROPER JUSTIFICATION THEY SHOULD GIVE PRESENTATION BY CONSIDERING ALL CATEGORIES OF PEOPLE. (class, age, sex….. etc…)

1) Based on their presentations organiser may ask few questions and may assign simple new tasks after the presentation. 2) Team should have max of 4 participants.(w, x, y, z) 3) Every member in the team should involve in the presentation part. 4) The participants in the team should act as  X-Brand or company owner(Advertising solutions also can be included)  Y-Patent holder of the product  Z-Finance head for the business  W-Who markets the product 5) The participant should be able to answer for the given idea for their respective position chosen.

1.2 JUDGING CRITERIA

 Viral marketing -30%  Advertising -25%  Product analysis-10%  USP-15%  Financial plan-20%

TEAMS WILL BE SHORT LISTED FOR SECOND ROUND BASED ON THE ABOVE JUDGING CRITERIA.

SECOND ROUND:  The products which have been mentioned in the preliminary round by the participant should be sold.  Sale of the product should be done only through registrations because the product mentioned in the preliminary round is superficial product.  Time will be allotted to the participant to sell their products.  The participant will get additional scores if they use the strategies mentioned in the first round.

PARTICIPANTS ARE GIVEN A CHANCE TO ADVERTISE THEIR PRODUCTS.

1.3 JUDGING CRITERIA  For every one hour status of the sales will be recorded.  Registrations and Advertising strategies are considered for the judgement.

TEAMS WILL BE SHORT LISTED FOR THE FINAL ROUND.

2 FINAL ROUND

 THE DETAILS OF THESE ROUND WILL BE DISCLOSED TO THE SHORTLISTED TEAMS
