A Proven Record of Fighting Crime and Protecting Our Rights

A decorated and dedicated prosecutor with real courtroom experience, Steve has personally tried many cases and has never lost a federal criminal trial. Both inside and outside the courtroom, Steve’s work has had a positive transformative impact on our community. Steve has:

• Led the U.S. Attorney’s office in achieving major convictions in cases involving terrorism, public corruption, fraud, gun violence, heroin trafficking, financial fraud, and hate crimes. • Developed and implemented successful programs in the fight against heroin and opioid abuse, which received national recognition by U.S. AG Loretta Lynch and became the Justice Department's national model. • Partnered with Mayor Frank Jackson, police and community leaders to negotiate and implement a landmark agreement to improve the Cleveland Division of Police, which now serves as a national model for bettering community-police relations. • Worked with the FBI to prosecute one of the largest municipal corruption cases in U.S. history, resulting in convictions in four major cities. • Overseen the investigation and prosecution of terrorism cases, including cases involving ISIS, Hezbollah and al-Quaeda recruits as well as an anarchist plot to blow up an Ohio bridge. • While serving in the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, prosecuted the first major human trafficking case in recent U.S. history.

Steve understands the can make a difference in people's lives. Ohioans need an Attorney General who will stand up for justice and fairness and fight each day for Ohio families. Steve is very interested in hearing from you about your thoughts on the future of Ohio.
