The Office of Academic Affairs is one of eight bodies that report directly to the university’s chancellor. In turn, all schools and colleges of the Baton Rouge campus report to the Office of Academic Affairs, along with other campus entities such as the LSU Press and the Rural Life Museum, as well as larger bodies such as Student Life and Academic Services, the Office of Research and Economic Development, and Finance and Administrative Services. SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE The Office of A cademic Affairs records document numerous aspects of the academic and research programs at Louisiana State University between 1951 and 2001. They consist of the records of committees studying academic issues for faculty and students; records on colleges, schools, departments, and libraries; policy statements; records on university-related bodies such as the Board of Regents and Faculty Senate; and records on academic curricula, the status of degree programs, and the desegregation consent decree. Topical Files, 1951-2001 This series contains topical files and materials collected and processed over several decades, consecutive dates and committee groupings may not follow a linear progression within the physical records. In many cases, batches of processed records are filed alphabetically by title. Records include correspondence, memorandums, reports, meeting minutes, and records on academic curricula, the status of degree programs, and the desegregation consent decree. Series III. Promotional Materials, 1991-1995 This series contains video recordings of television and radio spots, and video editorials pertaining to LSU copied to VHS tapes.
