It is a comprehensive guide full of contact and reference information and an essential tool for your business or profession. The Yearbook continues to be a reliable source of information for companies, authorities and any individual looking to find a contact within our industry. This information is also available on our website where you can also download copies of The Bulletin, download references and technical articles and search for contact information. The last year has been a very challenging year for all in the industry however the indications are that the APEA continues to go from strength to strength. I am looking forward to discovering what the next year will bring. I am sure it will be challenging in a better way, as the industry moves and changes with acquisitions and mergers both of retail sites and key suppliers to the industry. The Blue Book is our industry’s major publication and provides information on the design, construction, modification, maintenance and decommissioning of facilities for the storage and dispensing of vehicle fuels at filling stations. The information is largely based on experience from the UK, and makes reference to legislation applicable in the UK. For guidance, those outside the UK should comply with the relevant rules and laws applicable in their country. The Blue Book is now used in many countries around the world. Our training courses continue to be very well attended and remain the benchmark for our industry. We have many overseas delegates that attend our courses at the various locations in the UK. We also continue to see an increased demand for bespoke courses that are tailored to the individual needs of both local authorities and industry bodies. Our technical committee continues to receive and answer queries from many organisations, in regard to the various aspects of the safe storage and dispensing of petroleum. The quarterly Bulletin is a great source of information and includes up to date articles relating to the industry, together with an insight into new products and ideas. I would like to thank all the APEA committee members for all their time and effort and their good work. The APEA’s annual conference exhibition and awards dinner will again be held in Milton Keynes. With its technical presentations and gala awards dinner, it regularly attracts large numbers and is regarded as the leading event in our industry. I would like to thank all our corporate sponsors and all those who have supported the APEA and the Yearbook over the years. The APEA is committed to upholding the aims of the Association and to facilitate the interchange of information, the advancement of scientific and technical knowledge and uniformity of standards. The APEA provides a platform for discussion and debate where all members can engage in the subject of their choice, as well as having these views presented to technical bodies going forward to standards contributions. I would like to remind the various industry stakeholders, local authorities, as well as organisations, to send their colleagues and associates to attend their local APEA branch meetings. The APEA local branches are the rock of our association and the meetings they hold are extremely informative and provide an excellent opportunity for networking. I look forward to seeing you at the various Branch Meetings and APEA Live. Sell, M.A., B.D., Ph.D., F.S.A . .. 404 EDITORIAL Professor Sell would be the first to accept that in touching upon eighteenth century English Presbyterianism he has stepped into .a minefield. Moreover, although his method is historical his purpose is confessional. Many readers will welcome his paper, some will question it, all will be provoked by it. It follows admirably upon his ''Confessing the Faith in English Congregational ism" (J. U.R. C.H.S., Vol. 4, No.3, October 1988) and it is of the same order of importance. Of our other contributors, Rosemary Seton is librarian at the School of Oriental and African Studies; Alan Cass was librarian at the University of Sheffield; Alison Gill moves in October to a post at the University of East Anglia; John Brencher is a Baptist minister. NOTES Note 1: RELIGIOUS ARCHIVES CONFERENCE Thursday, October 12th 1989 may well prove to be a significant date in the annals of religious archivology.
