THE Barbados Association of Retired Persons (BARP) is bring- ing more Christmas cheer to Barbadians, as its con- cert series heads to the east of the island. Tomorrow, Friday December 11, the BARP series of free Christmas concerts featuring the Royal Barbados Police Band will bring the King George VPark to life with all the Yuletide favourites. BARP President Marilyn Rice-Bowen said the purpose of the series of concerts is to spread much-needed Christmas cheer during the COVID period, with smaller crowds cumulatively reaching a big audience. “As a responsible NGO, we thought that it would be irresponsible of us to hold one event and have those large crowds. Whereas yes the music is enjoyable we still have to be responsible,” she stressed. “The other reason that would have motivated us to spread the cheer is that we recognised that most activities tend to centre in the St. Michael and Christ Church area and when we looked at our disposition of our membership island- wide, we do have members throughout Barbados and they deserve to stay where they are and enjoy Christmas cheer.” BARP President Marilyn Rice-Bowen with City of Bridgetown Co-operative Credit Union Ltd Winston Alleyne as they encourage Barbadians to attend BARP’s free concert series featuring the Royal Barbados Police Band, which will be making its way to the BARP on Page 5 east of the island tomorrow.

P R O HOROSCOPES S A ARIES: It might feel as if you are by no means N close to having life back to normal. There were D promises of better things to come but these haven't in any way matched reality. A system that has been C put in place to benefit everyone isn't holding up. O You sense a situation is going to get worse before it N gets better. S TAURUS: A joint matter will take a surprising turn and this will work to your advantage. Finances are improving. Even so, you intend to keep to your budget this Christmas. This means preparing well in advance. You are savvy to consumerism and won't be tempted to purchase items you can't afford.

GEMINI: The last thing you want is to fall into Z your usual routine. The temptation to do something I out of the ordinary is hard to resist. A friend who likes T to have everything planned well in advance does S not understand why you are so restless. You don't have to explain. Just follow your adventurous im- pulses.

CANCER: You're impatient to complete some jobs before Christmas. Cutting corners could result in a project costing more than originally intended either through time, money or effort or all of the above. Don't expect much help from others. Someone is in R a lazy mood and that person is not you. E LEO: A home related project could cause frustration X when you may need some expensive tools or equip- ment to finish the job. This may mean you will have M to put this work to one side for a while until you can O afford to continue with it. If you do, it may be a while R before you pick it up again. G A VIRGO: You are sensing some people are getting N frustrated with your careful ways. It may be neces- sary to take a step back in a group project to let someone else do all the organising. They won't be as thorough or as meticulous as you and you shouldn't be surprised if in the future they come back to you for advice. .

LIBRA: Be sensible about what you take on. It P would be easy to agree to obligations that prove dif- H ficult and time consuming. People who offer you A these tasks are passing them on to you for a reason. N They don't want to commit to anything too difficult T so when you think about it: why should you? O SCORPIO: A genuine misunderstanding might M cause problems that will be hard to resolve. After some confusion you could be surprised by how quickly you fall into your usual routines. A friend's new interests get your attention. You want to do something unusual and challenging this coming weekend, and this might be it. M SAGITTARIUS: Be sensible and make practical choices when making decisions that will have con- A sequences for other people as well as yourself. A R quick chat with a friend is all that is needed for you Y to pick up they are nervous about something. Make some time for them later in the day. They need some- W one to confide in. O R CAPRICORN: You have more control of your life and this feels good. You will be making the most of T any opportunity that comes your way to develop H your personal skills and talents. Responsibilities you take on now will be through choice not obligation and this will make life more rewarding.

AQUARIUS: In business and finance, the more in- M formation you uncover the easier you will find it to O make good decisions. A domestic issue needs atten- T tion. Someone has been careless with their spending. H If you or a partner agrees to curb impulsive spend- E ing, this should help avoid future problems. R

PISCES: Something is bothering you. Although you G don't want to talk about it a close friend will sense O your confusion. You don't have to battle on with a O problematic project on your own. People may not S have been available to help you in the past but there E is someone who will be ready to assist you now. Hope leads Sir Garfield Sobers XI to opening victory
