Project Name: Navinyam and Aarambh Date: 1st – 3rd July, 2014 Concept:  Blood Donation Drive was conducted at the Growels Mall Kandivali East, in association with Navjeevan Blood Bank, Borivali. Janmbhoomi newspaper covered this project. RCNM supported by more than 71 bottles.  Being World Rotary Annapuna Day, around 20 kids were fed by RCNM while the district count was of 17000+ kids.  PR Rally was carried out at 32 venues where in need of education was showcased by spreading awareness via skit. Day was spent at an orphanage and routine training projects were carried out.

Project Name: Handful of Grains Date: 4th – 31st July Concept:  In to 4th year of this project, this signature project got support of various partners like five national and 1 international Rotaract club along with the Rotary Club of Bombay West, Inner Wheel of Bombay West and Interact Clubs of Hussain Alana English School and Jamnabai Narsee School supported by associations like Yashodaraman Foundation, Desai Group of Builders and Leo District 323 A3.  3110kgs and yet the figure is increasing. Almost more than 800 kgs was collected at national and international level whereas more than 2300 kgs was collected by students of NM.

Project Name: Maangalyam Date: 12th July, 2014 Concept:  Installation ceremony of outgoing President Rtr. Hardik Nagar and incoming President Rtr. Aditya Shastri. Installation ceremony was graced by NM Alumnus and Chief Guest DRR Rtr. Hemang Jakhia, NM Alumnus PDRR Rtr Vinit Parikh, Prof.in.charge and Vice Principal Rtn Amee Vora; Royal Bank of Scotland Managing Director, PDRR, Member of Board of Studies of NMIMS Rtn. Pankaj Phatarphod and many others. More than 250+ witnessed this induction ceremony which was graced by students, Rotarians, officials, Rotaractors, Alumni, Past Presidents, Parents etc.

Project Name: Cheers to Discovery! Date: 12th July, 2014 Concept:  An annual bulletin released on the installation celebrating various themes every year. This year it being celebrating the various discoveries.

Project Name: Chakachak Date: 13th July, 2014 Concept:  A clean up drive at various stations all over Mumbai which was a joint project with 32 different clubs. More than 300 bags were collected of garbage by mere 120 rotaractors. NM played a pivotal role in acquiring permission and in publicity of this project.

Project Name: Impromptu Date: 18th July, 2014 Concept:  In order to promote public speaking, a session was organized at the Interact Club of Hussain Alana English School were teams of 5 were made and were given a topic on which all the 5 members had to speak for a minute and the points shouldn’t be overlapping. More than 37 children were benefited for the same.

Project Name: IS Infoground Date: 18th July, 2014 Concept:  An international foot print where in there were 3 rounds of quiz and an international debate.  It not only tested the geographical knowledge of the participants but also enhanced team building, coordination and understanding amongst the participants.

Project Name: Interact Date: 18th July, 2014  Concept: An event based on improving a person’s communication skills in 5 rounds.

Project Name: Utsav Date: 19th July, 2014  A fun and fair for the orphans at YMCA, where there were 6 games organized for them. 82 kids were benefitted out of the project.

Project Name: A Multi-Speciality Check-Up Date: 20th July, 2014  A free multi-speciality check –up in association with our parent Rotary Club of Bombay West was conducted at the Rotary Service Centre which saw a footfall of 125 people. RCNM had conducted a free medical check up where in Check up was conducted by various specialists for free. It included, General OPD, Gynecology, ENT Check up, skin check up, Dietitian, Physiotherapy, Diabetolohy and Blood Rotary Club of Bombay West received a great response of more than 230 checkup in the span of 4 hours of the camp conducted. A special help was received from LM Patel Hospital for Eye check up, BSES Hospital etc for conducting this project.

Project Name: E-Friend Date: 25th July – 31st July, 2014  10 clubs national and international clubs took part in it and sent 2,4 or 6 representatives from their clubs who would talk one-to-one with a certain person from another club and try to know them. On 31st a bulletin on their experiences was released to celebrate the International Day of Friendship.

Project Name: The Grand Discourse-The Voice of an HRM Date: 26th July, 2014  An ongoing initiative where various speakers will speak on various topics. For this session PDRR. Himanshu Kapadia who is among the top 20 HR influencers gave a guest lecture on HR in college for the students of N.M.College.

Project Name: Mock Court Date: 29th July, 2014  A mock court was set up with 10 teams of 2 each and 5 cases to be solved which had prosecution, defense and witnesses as well. The cases were real cases that have happened in the recent years. The judge for the same was Alumnus of NM College Rtr. Bhavi Turakhia, the Joint Professional Development Director of RID 3140. 40+ participants witnessed this project. All of them were NM students.

Project Name: Teach Me Your Tongue Date: 30th July, 2014  The bulletin features an elaborate account on language idiosyncracies committed by multifarious groups of people and a humorous perspective suggesting remedies to them. The bulletin was released on different social media interactive groups.

Project Name: 8-8-8 Date: 31st July, 2014  A pool tournament was held for one and all in a pool arena in Versova.

Project Name: Earn Your Ropee Date: 31st July, 2014  An event on task-based group behavior of participants testing their team work, competitive spirit and the knack of completing their goals within a stipulated time period. The event had a list of outdoor activities to be accomplished by which the teams earned their 'ropees' i.e The RCNM Currency to beat their opponents.

Project Name: Lights. Camera. RCNM. Date: 1st – 31st August, 2014 Concept: • Our RCNM Blog was revived with almost 2 blogs being penned down every week on various topics.

• This improved online publicity of the club giving a platform to young writers to express themselves.

• College students are given chances to write for the blog and till now 8 topics have been covered up.

Project Name: The Grand Discourse –The What and How of Social Entrepreneurship Date: 8th August , 2014 Concept:

• An ongoing initiative where various speakers will speak on various topics. For this session PDRR Vinit Parikh who is an alumni of NM College gave a guest lecture on Social Entrepreneurship and its scope for the students of N.M.College.

• More than 140 students witnessed NM Alumnus Vinit Parikh's guest session

Project Name: DEVA-E-GANESHA Date: 10th to 26th August, 2014 Concept:

• A signature project in its 4th year continued to spread awareness about use of eco-friendly ganesh idols and campaigns where students promoted with the tagline “Lets go green” in association with Nirmal Jyot Trust and The Green Initiative (TGII).

• Flash mobs for awareness which were followed by rallies were performed at Growels Mall and Raghuleela Mall in Kandivali and also at Oberoi Mall in Goregaon receiving massive response by the public. The flash mob at Growels Mall was covered by news channel TV9.

• More than 30 idols were made from the Ganesh Idol making competitions which were held at Nanavati School, and Goklibai High School, Vile Parle. These idols were then displayed at an exhibition cum sale at Rotary Service Center, Juhu on 20th August.

• Viva College of Architecture, Virar and India News joined in a partners at a later stage. Around 70 idols were donated in slums in Virar for promoting Eco friendly Ganesha.

Project Name: Mock Gram Panchayat Date: 12th August, 2014 Concept:

• A project for the college students to pronounce reforms to pressing issues comprising a village welfare policies, social welfare, infrastructure development, health conditions.

• They were asked to formulate their own policies for the factor of improvement of the societal and village conditions. This led them to have a ground level working and a base root on how to determine policies.

• A phase 2 shall be conducted in order to promote the soft spoken skills, group discussion scenario and depth knowledge in order to have a determined say.

Project Name: Air Hockey Date: 14th August, 2014 Concept:

• Promotion of an International Sport led to an excitement in certain students.

• More than 30 people participated in this project during a Holdiday.

Project Name: Green Independence Date: 14th August, 2014 Concept: • Saplings were distributed to the support staff of the college and around 30 saplings were planted in and around the college premises. • This project was carried out alongwith 32 other national Rotaract Clubs on 15th August.

Project Name: Operation Tri-Colour Date: 15th August, 2014 Concept: • As responsible citizens, we collected the disposed flags from our own localities. This flag collection drive was held with a motive of proper cremation and burial of the flags in order to maintain the dignity of the esteemed Indian flag.

Project Name: The Grand Discourse – Leadership Date: 23rd August , 2014 Concept: • An ongoing initiative where various speakers will speak on various topics. For this session PDRR Rtn. Pankaj Phatarphod who is the Managing Director of the Royal Bank of Scotland – Indian region, imparted a guest lecture on Leadership – An Art Rediscovered for the students of N.M.College.

• Around 90 students of NM College attended this guest lecture.

Project Name: International triathlon Date: 24th August, 2014 Concept: • This event focused on promotion of national sports of countries Bangladesh, New Zealand and England wiz Kabaddi, Rugby and Cricket respectively.

Project Name: Say NO to Plastic Date: 24nd to 27th August, 2014 Concept: • A legacy project where children of Carmel of St. Joseph School, Malad, Poddar School, Santacruz and Goklibai School, Vileparle were taught how to make paper bags.

• Interact Club of Husain Alana High School also joined hands for this project. Use of paper bags is being promoted as plastic is extremely dangerous to the environment.

• More than 1000 bags were made by the students. Also, these bags shall be distributed to the local vendors which shall be followed by a 1.5 km clean up drive of roads and creating awareness of not using plastic.

Project Name: Rendez-Vous Date: 25th August, 2014 Concept: • A synergy session a part of training and development of Directors and DEs; containing team building and bonding activities.

Project Name: Alumni Reconnect – Phase 1 Date: 27th August, 2014 Concept: • An initiative to connect the alumni of NM College and RCNM with the present team. It gives an insight and different experiences are known of learning and transformation. The alumni come back and share with us their journey and how rotaract has helped them to develop personally and professionally. The 1st session was taken by Rtr. Tanay Iyer, Alumnus of RCNM, editorial avenue. He is a book writer and now a graduate in BMM.

Project Name: Emperor of Ports Date: 27th August, 2014 Concept: • Basic idea of this project was to provide an experience of inland water trade. An auction of ports was initially held where in concept of intra trade, tender, auctioning and trading were involved.

Project Name: Go Digicom! Date: 27th August, 2014 Concept:

• Each one must know the basic skills to make the best of computer applications. This was a ground where participants were taught the basics of Corel Draw, Photoshop, making of JPEGs etc. This initiative shall be carried forward for the members too.

RCNM tied up with The Green India Initiative (TGII) for Say No To Plastic

TGII, TV 9, India News, Growels Mall, Raghuleela Mall and Oberoi Mall.

Handful of Grains got covered in Mumbai Samachar, Asian Age and Navbharat Times.

RCNM undertook Vivekanand Youth Forum as "Humanitarian Partner" where in students were taught basic civic senses. This shall be a year long initiative of RCNM.

Manilal Sunderji School has been undertaken for 3H "RCNM Academy" education cause of RCNM.

Project Name: Lights. Camera. RCNM. Date: 1st – 31st September, 2014 Concept:  Our RCNM Blog was revived in august with almost 2 blogs being penned down every week on various topics.  Further, this month, few more people have got a chance to express their thoughts through this platform.

Project Name: The Grand Beginning Date: 2nd – 8th September , 2014 Concept:  A membership drive around the college inviting applications to be a part of this social organization, for both junior and degree college.  Here forms were distributed and applicants were called for an interview, from which many crossed the path to become a part of this organization.

Project Name: Pachisi Date: 4th September, 2014 Concept:  PACHISI was a life-size board game is based on the ancient Ludo played in Mahabharat. It was a combination of an ancient board, medieval concept and modern twists.  It involved various activities and quizzes with a twist. Participants of Junior College enjoyed learning and improvising their general knowledge.  They performed tasks to get through various levels of difficulty through co- ordination and teamwork.

Project Name: ABCD – Again Beach Cleaning Drive Date: 9th September, 2014 Concept:  This is a 9 year long legacy project of the club wherein we clean the beach on the 11th day after Ganesh Visarjan every year.  The whole club joined hands with WNC – Wildlife and Nature Club of the College this year which was the 9th year of the project to clean the beach and spread awareness about use of eco-friendly ganapati idols and materials, as well as not to litter the beach. An environment friendly initiative witnessed participation of more than 250 students collecting garbage of approximate 405 kgs.  We partnered with NCC of Juhu, 92.7 Big Fm, Just Dial and The Green India Initiative.  The event was covered by 7 news channels – TV9, Zee News, Jai News, News Express, Lemon News, P7 News.  Post project coverage was received through live coverage of event on Lemon News and an article in Navbharat Times.

Project Name: Ctrl + Alt + Delete Date: 10th -25th September, 2014 Concept:  Videos about various technologies and fast-forward gadgets were posted on social media sites like Google Glass, 3D Printer etc.

Project Name: Rotary Night Date: 10th September , 2014 Concept:  This was like a get together for rotaractors and Rotarians. RCNMites here performed a skit on ”Voice against Child Abuse”. A heart touching play about awareness against child abuse.  Secondly, a dance performance on Deva-e-Ganesha and a singing event took place.  Rtr. Jugal Daxini, won a prize for his singing talent.

Project Name: Global Fusion – An International Services Week Date: 13th – 20th September, 2014 Concept:  A week was celebrated in collaboration with various clubs. This week consisted of 7 different elements such as lifestyle, scavenger hunt, dance, mythological board game, food, languages and clothing.  Different activities were carried out In relation to the above 7 elements for 7 days. It was a cultural treasure of various cities and nations, building knowledge and sense of respect for all.

Project Name: The Take Off - Member orientation Date: 17th September, 2014 Concept:  This was a platform to welcome newly selected members to the world of Rotaract.  They were introduced to the Club and the District and acquainted about the learnings and benefits of Rotaraction.  Few fun based learning activites were played along with challenging tasks with them.

Project Name: Bechoge toh Jeetoge Date: 17th September, 2014 Concept:  Participants were grouped into team of 3, and allocated tasks to market and sell their products. Advertising and selling their product was not an easy job.  Focussing on development of communication and convincing skills, this event was a great success.

Project Name: Run for the Mandate Date: 19th September, 2014 Concept:  An event to explore and dvelop on the skills of stratergizing, planning and public appeal of an individual. This also focusesd on increasing the interest of youth in the political "scenario."  Various teams (parties) were formed which were asked to think plan and work like a government. This enlightened them not to blame government for ever single social problem as the final cause is none other than the public.

Project Name: Football fiesta Date: 19th September, 2014 Concept:  Football being a world-wide recognized sport, was brought to the Mumbai college students.  At Growels Mall, Kandivali, various teams battled with sportsman spirit to lead, to win and get the trophy.  Being continued for many years, this project shall see its second phase in December.

Project Name: Beach Games Date: 21st September, 2014 Concept:  Again a legacy project of RCNM, Beach games is an initiative to wake up to Sunday morning of exercise and healthyness.  Different sports and games were played by all at Juhu Beach , increasing interaction between them.

Project Name: ROSHNI – A Ray of Hope Date: 18th – 24th September , 2014 Concept :  ROSHNI was an interschool competition, an initiative to instill the spirit of competition amongst the under-privileged students of BMC Schools.  It included free style dancing, singing, drawing and painting, public speaking etc.  It provided a platform to these kids to showcase their talents at Manilal Sunderji Tami School, Vile Parle and Marathi School, Vileparle, touching lives of more than 300 kids.

Project Name: World Elders Day Date: 27th September, 2014 Concept:  Regarding Rotary and Senior Citizens as our Partners-in-Service, we dedicated World Elders Day to them  A joint project with Rotary wherein excellence and achievement awards were given to about 50 senior citizens of an old age home , followed by an entertainment programme.  A healthy diet programme was organized where expert dieticians were invited to share healthy diet habits and educate others to take care of heath, because after all, Health is Wealth.  Rotaractors then spent some time with them and shared their experiences, making it a huge success.

Project Name: English took a Loan Date : 30th September, 2014 Concept:  A legacy project revolving around the most spoken language – English. English is a fine blend of a million different languages from different hemispheres and different ethnicities, we can say English took a loan from different languages.  Just around this concept, this bulletin has been made and released where rotaractors have made the effort to highlight such different words we use in everyday life in English whose etymology goes way beyond that.  This is an online bulletin released on social media sites and pages of the club.

Project Name : SOCH - A Walk In Brain Date of Project : 6th October 2014 & 31st October 2014 Concept:  A guest lecture by psychologist Ms. Shobha Rani.  Two phases one in an orphanage, desire society and oldage home in khar.  The orphanage and trustees loved the concept as it would help the kids and elders to give a new outlook to their problems and lead a positive life.  And to balance the lecture, few refreshing games were played.

Project Name :Halloween bash Date of Project : 18th October 2014 Concept :  A Project whose main aim was to bond the Core, Directors and General body Members.  The team was dressed in Halloween Theme, Award Ceremony for the quarter was conducted and other activities which helped them increase their coordination and also was a source of rejuvenation.

Project Name : Food Walk, Date of Project : 29th , 30th, 31st October 2014 Concept :  A Project which aimed bonding and interaction between the different members of the club over food.  The whole concept of this 3 day project was to visit different unexplored food outlets over Mumbai and not only taste the street foods but also experience the raw spirit of Mumbai.  Each day had a theme, they were Street food, Irani Cafes and bakeries and the last day ended with Exploring Bombay.

Project Name : The Fortnight of Terror Date of Project : 13th October to 31st October 2014 Concept :  The aim of the project was to use the digital medium to celebrate the festival of Halloween in pure editorials style.  It was also intended to revive the long lost genre of ‘Horror’ to it’s old glory by promoting it through the RCNM blog.

Project Name : Corporate Drama Date of the Project 18th October 2014 Concept :  Corporate Drama was a project which was based on few of the most important activities or rather working skill that take place in a Corporate House/Office/Firms.  It aimed at presenting oneself in various Corporate situations and handling different skills at all times.

Project Name : Rags to Riches Date of the Project: 30th October 2014 Concept:  Rags To Riches is an Online Bulletin where in we put up 7 big success stories of 7 entrepreneurs that have made humongous success starting from the Scratch.  Stories of such people included the stories of Karsanbhai, the founder and owner of the washing powder company – NIRMA, Ramesh Babu, the owner of the world famous Ramesh Tours and Travels and many more who started their career from low and have reached great heights.

Project Name : Diwali Wahi Soch Nayi Date Of Project : 19th October and 20th October 2014 Concept:  The project marked a start on the social media where people were asked to take a video of themselves and pledge that they shall not burst crackers and will educate those around them to not burst crackers too.  The first day of the event showed up a Human Poster Chain at busy stations ranging from Borivali to Churchgate (The Western Line).  The second day of the event saw Flashmobs and Street Plays at two Mega Malls of Mumbai namely Oberoi Mall in Goregaon and Raghuleela Mall in Kandivali followed by Human Poster Chains at all these places.  The team received two articles for the event. One in Navbharat Times and one in Asian Age newspaper.

Project Name : Interact Week Date of Project : 6th November 2014 – 13th November 2014 Concept :  The event was divided into 7 different days on the basis of 7 different focus areas namely – Community Service, Professional Development, Editorial etc.  The event focused on providing all round development to the students in all the fields.  The Interact Club Students of Interact Club of Jamnabai Narsee School and Hussain Allana School were the beneficiaries of the event that took place.

Project Name : Funskool’14 Date of Project : 14th November 2014 Concept :  A treasure hunt was organized on the very Children’s Day for the street kids.  A locality was chosen and street kids were gathered for the game and divided into teams. It was followed by a round of Quiz on General IQ.  The event aimed at promoting the spirit of happiness and companionship among them on account of the Children’s Day.  The winning team was given a Gift Hamper and every kid was given a Study Kit containing a Pen – Pencil and a Writing Pad.

Project Name : The State Gamble Date of the Project: 15th November 2014 Concept :  Based on Policy Making and Budget Allocation, the whole event was divided in 2 rounds with a participation of 8 teams with 3 participants each.  The teams were given a Statistical Data of Two states regarding a particular sector such as Industry, Agriculture, etc. They had to make O-give curves of both the states in the same graph and find the Difference between the two States. The State with low performance, according to the graph had to be revived in that sector for which each team had to make a policy.  In the Second round, each team was given a state and one problem that prevailed in the State. A budget was allocated with the use of that budget and plan out a strategy as to how the problem of the state can be solved.  The top two teams with best plans were then fought their way to win the Event in the final round of debate. Topic was - BJP vs Shiv-Sena in Maharashtra

Project Name : The Strategist Date of Project : 16th November 2014 Concept:  Participants were allocated teams and were further given a business plan to discuss on.  Each of the business plan had a specific problem to be discussed.  The participants in the teams were evaluated on the basis of their thinking in the field and the uniqueness of their approach and solutions to it.

Project Name : Basket Ball Tournament Date of Project : 19th November 2014 Concept :  The aim of the project was to provide an opportunity to all the Basket Ball players to showcase their talent.  The event saw a large participation and it took place at Chembur.

Project Name : Se7en Date of the Project : 21st November 2014 Concept :  The event involved a Bonding session focusing on creative and Intellectual activities.  It aimed at promoting a broader area for developing soft skills amidst others along with formation of Human Chains across places.  The event took place at Pushpa Narsee Park and was jointly done with the Rotaract Club of Jai Hind College.

Project Name : Model Indian Parliamentary Session (MIPS) Date Of Project : 22nd November 2014 Concept:  The project aimed at presenting a model of the Parliament sessions that happen in the Indian Lok Sabha. The participants were presented with 2 Bills, namely- The Juvenile Justice Bill and The Benami Transaction Bill, one Pre- Lunch and one Post-Lunch respectively, and there were thorough discussions and debates on the same.  The entire crowd was divided into five parties on basis of their preferences. On basis of this, the positions of the Ruling party and Opposition were decided. The Ministers were elected by the parties in a Democratic manner and so was the collaboration of parties done. Each session followed by a Question Hour.  The speaker for the session was Prof. Lata Nagarkar from the Mithibai College of Commerce and the Judge for the session was Ms. Bijal Shah from N.M College of Commerce and Economics.  The parties later had a ballot system for voting and hence the Bills were passed. The Best Question, Best Answer and the Best Speaker for both the sessions were felicitated.

Project Name : Health Check Up Date Of Project : 23rd November 2014 Concept:  A medical Camp was organized by the Rotary Club of Bombay West which was volunteered by the club members.  It involved assisting the patients and also handling the entire camp and its flow.  The Health check-up consisted of Full Body Check up of Eyes, Nose, Ears, Skin, Asthma, Sugar, Blood Pressure etc with the services of the Physiotherapists, Homeopathic Doctors as well as Gynaecologists.  The day saw a really good response with 185 patients in just 4 hours of the camp.

Project Name : Beloved Wanderers Date Of Project : 24th November 2014 Concept:  The event involved 4 rounds of Literary Art events and included a Taboo, Short Story Writing, A Quiz too.  The main focus behind the event was to promote literary skills among the participants.

Project Name : Reduce Reuse Recycle Date Of Project : 27th November 2014 – 30th November 2014 Concept:  An initiative taken up to help the environment and make use of the waste materials left out after consumption of goods.  The team went to different places and helped keep dustbins at places prescribed by the BMC and also helped collecting waste materials from outside various food vendors.  The waste was further given to Geetanjali Environtech which is an association looking into recycling of waste products and converting them into Organic manure and fertilizers for different purposes.

Project Name : Hand Ball Tournament Date Of Project : 30th November 2014 Concept:  The project focused on providing a platform for Hand Ball players to showcase their abilities and match against various opponents.  The event happened at Ground, Dadar East and the Chief Guest for the same was – Mr. Satish Pawar, Police Inspector of Mumbai Police, Sports and an Ex- Maharashtra Hockey Player.  Prizes were presented to the winning teams by the Guest of honour.
