➢ The following clusters of Radio stations will be created under one Business Manager to optimize resources, break down geographic boundaries and unlock revenues on different platforms.
➢ Business managers will be expected to possess relevant qualifications, experience and business acumen to manage across diverse cultures and brands.

The following changes to the structure came about after consultative meetings and written inputs from affected parties during the suspension of Sec 189.
• Digital Assistant – all radio stations with the exception of XKFM will be afforded the position of Digital Assistant. This is in line with the SABC’s strategy on digital migration, specifically the implementation of a OTT player. This addresses the input from staff that saw the proposed structure as Analogue. • Imaging Specialist – RSG will not have this position as the station has rejected its relevance at the station currently. If in the future the need for the position arises, the station would have to motivate for it. Good Hope FM and 5FM have pleaded for this position to be added on their structure in exchange for the Programme Compiler position, this has been granted to the two commercial brands. • Executive Producer Mandate – in the proposed structure this position would oversee Education, Religion, Drama and Sport. The concerns from staff and organised labour were around the workload in each of these mandate areas. The new solution proposed is to remove Sport and Religion from this position and let it focus on Drama and Education only. The position will now be called, Senior Producer Mandate, and will be supported by the drama producer. Stations will continue utilizing freelance skills to produce Religious programmes and they will also continue to be supported by SABC Sport in terms of Sport content – utilizing freelancers to deliver the programmes. The Programme Manager will supervise the two areas. Summary of Changes to the Proposed Structure

• Programme Compiler – this station has been removed from PBS brands and has been replaced with the Digital assistant. Stations have indicated that scheduling of non-music content can be carried out by the imaging specialist. However, more growth is anticipated in Digital, hence the plea for additional skills in this area. Channel Africa also gets a programme compiler because of their pre-recorded programmes and other scheduling issues.
• Channel Africa – a number of issues were raised by Channel Africa staff and organised labour. The key issues considered were scheduling challenges and imaging (promos), as well as news gathering. As a result of these inputs the station has been offered a programme compiler position and two reporter positions.
• Mandate Content Funding – proposed position to work with the Education Coordinator. This is necessitated by Corporate Affairs “dissolving” the Funding department. This will take care of existing contracts and look for new content and funding in the area of Education for Radio. PROPOSED RADIO STRUCTURE
