Managing Experience: 3 Years Named: Manager on Nov. 7, 2012 WEISS COACHING CAREER: Walt Weiss enters his third season as manager of the Colorado Rockies...his overall managerial record is 140-184 (.432) entering the 2015 season...the 2014 Rockies went 66-96 (.407) in Weiss’ second season as manager...in his first campaign of 2013, Weiss directed the Rockies to a 10-win improvement over the previous year, ultimately leading the club to a 74-88 record...Weiss notched his first win as manager in the Rockies’ second game of the season on April 2, 2013 at Milwaukee...Weiss’ first home win came in the Rockies home-opener on April 5, 2013 vs. San Diego...Weiss led the Rockies to an eight-game winning streak April 12-20, 2013, tied for fifth-longest win streak in club history...Weiss was named the sixth manager of the Colorado Rockies on Nov. 7, 2012...Weiss replaced Jim Tracy as Rockies manager (Tracy held the position from May 29, 2009 - Oct. 7, 2012)...Weiss’ hiring as manager marks a return to the Rockies clubhouse for his third stint with the club, as he played four seasons for Colorado (1994-97) and was a special assistant to the general manager for the Rockies for seven seasons (2002-08)...as special assistant, Weiss dressed for each home game and assisted then-Manager Clint Hurdle, including spending time in the Rockies’ player development system....following his stint as special assistant, Weiss was an assistant coach (2009-11) and head coach (2012) at Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, Colo....as head coach, he led Regis to a 20-6 record and the 5A semi-finals...Weiss was also an assistant football coach at Regis for three seasons.
