WWW Short for World Wide Web, WWW (also called W3) is an information space in which the items of interest, referred to as resources, are identified by global identi- fiers called uniform resource identifiers (URI). Although the WWW is often considered to be the same thing as the Internet, it is actually part of the Internet. The WWW comprises the resources that can be accessed using Gopher, FTP, HTTP, telnet, , WAIS and other tools, and the network of hypertext (HTTP) servers.
