Public Transportation from the airports to the Westin Michigan Hotel.

Purchase a transit card from the fare card vending machine for $2.50 at Midway and $5.00 at O’Hare. These machines are located directly in front of the turnstiles that lead to the trains.

From Midway Airport The trains are located on the eastside of the airport, lower level by baggage claim. Note: follow the “Trains to the City” overhead signs. Trains runs daily 4:30am-1:20am, every 8-15 minutes.

Option 1- Train/Cab. Most convenient. Take the CTA Orange Line train to Clark and Lake Streets (elevated). (Approximately 30 minute ride)

If you have large or heavy luggage, it would be more comfortable if you were to catch a cab (approximately $10.00 w/o tip from this point.).

Option 2 – Train/Bus Involves transfer from Orange Line then transfer to bus. Take the CTA Orange Line train to State and station, exit the train and walk down the stairs to street level. On the Southeast corner (same block as the Theater), stand at the bus stop and catch CTA bus, #146 Michigan Express (please take note of the bus stop sign} northbound. On North Michigan Avenue, exit the bus at Delaware Place. The Westin is the gray marble building across from the John Hancock (tall black building); the entrance is on Delaware.

Option 3 – Train/Train/Walk Involves transfer from Orange Line, to Red Line and then Walk. Take the CTA Orange Line train to Roosevelt station, exit the train and walk down the stairs and follow the tunnel over to the Red Line. Board the Red Line towards Howard, but exit off at Chicago Ave. This will place you approximately 6 blocks walking distance to the hotel. Most direct route is to follow the BLUE DOTS. Most scenic route is to follow the GREY LINE down on Chicago Ave to Michigan. Just follow the map below.

From O’Hare Airport The trains are located in terminal 2, lower level. Note: follow the “Trains to the City” overhead signs. Trains run at all times, every half-hour at night (1am-5am).

Option 1- Train/Cab. Most convenient. Take the CTA Blue Line train to Clark and Lake Streets (subway). (Approximately 45 minute ride)

If you have large or heavy luggage, it would be more comfortable if you were to catch a cab (approximately $11.00 w/o tip from this point.).

Option 2 – Train/Bus. Involves transfer from Blue Line to bus. Take the Blue Line train exit at Washington station. Take the escalator up to the ped-walk and walk towards Block 37. Board CTA bus #146 Michigan at the Northeast corner in front of Macy’s at Randolph & State. Exit at Delaware Place. The Westin is the gray marble building across from the John Hancock (tall black building); the entrance is on Delaware.

Option 3 – Train/Train/Walk Involves transfer from Blue Line, to Red Line and then Walk. Take the Blue Line train exit at Washington station.
