INTER COLLEGIATE BUSINESS COMPETITION 2019/2020

PACKAGE TITLE INTER COLLEGIATE BUSINESS COMPETITION 2020

SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF TERRITORY

Queen’s University is situated on traditional Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee Territory. To acknowledge this traditional territory is to recognize its longer history, one predating the establishment of the earliest European colonies. It is also to acknowledge this territory’s significance for the Indigenous peoples who lived, and continue to live, upon it – people whose practices and spiritualities were tied to the land and continue to develop in relationship to the territory and its other inhabitants today. The Kingston Indigenous community continues to reflect the area’s Anishinaabek and Haudenosaunee roots. There is also a significant Métis community and there are First Peoples from other Nations across Turtle Island present here today.

HOW DOES I.C.B.C. WORK? Unique to most other global competitions, I.C.B.C. is split into two rounds: Preliminary Round and I.C.B.C. Final Weekend. The Preliminary Round is a written case response designed to challenge competitors’ ability to write a quality business report. Over the course of 2-3 weeks in October, competitors will work in teams of 2 (3 for Business Policy) to prepare their response, with the Top 6 teams in each stream advancing to I.C.B.C. Final Weekend. Held in January at Smith School of Business at Queen’s University (in Kingston, Ontario, Canada), Final Weekend is an exhilarating 3-day event which balances fierce competition (in a 5.5-hour case presented to a panel of expert judges) with many opportunities to network and socialize with fellow competitors, volunteers, and corporate sponsors. As the premier case competition in Canada, competitors are challenged to meet the needs of the current business climate. Combining both a written and verbal deliverable, I.C.B.C. is unique and academically rigorous, welcoming only the best and brightest to Final Weekend.
