(i) Brief description of nature of the project. The proposed mine will provide 1,00,000 TPA of Sand by opencast semi-mechanized method. The lease area is 6.30.00 Hect . Lease area does not have any forest land and is totally government land. The total mineable reserves available here are 324000tons. The expected life of mine is more than 2 years. Water requirement for project for domestic use, dust suppression will be 6.0 KLD which will be met through tube well from nearby areas and/or water tanker suppliers.

(ii) Need for the project and its importance to the country and/or region. Sand is used as a construction material worldwide. Sand is used as raw material in construction of building and infrastructure projects. Need for the Project

Primary Secondary

Primary Needs: - 1. This project is located at Vi.-Dedhrota Ta.- HimatnagarDis.- Sabarkantha . It is contributing in enhancing state production of Sand StoneThe capacity of this project is 1,00,000 TPA. 2. Sand is essential construction of building and infrastructure projects.

Secondary Needs: - The villagers of nearby villages have more employment opportunities.

Importance to the country and region:- In , mining Industry contributes significantly to its economy. The GDP (Gross Domestic Product) contribution of mining industry varies from 2.2% to 2.5% only but total industrial sector contributes around 10% to 11%.Even small scaled mining contributes 6% to the entire cost of minerals production. The working mine contribute in the State’s minerals production and improve the GDP with a positive & important effect on the region.

(iii) Demand-Supply Gap. As Sand is used as raw material in construction of building and infrastructure projects, the demand of Sand is increasing day by day. In past, demand was not too much but now a days due to rapid industrialization and urbanization its demand increasing with pace of time. At present, demand of Sand is more than the supply.
