Why do you want to serve on the FLCS Board of Directors? As a parent I choose to be involved in my children's education because I love them just that much and more. I want to make sure that I am involved in as much as I can to protect them and to do what is in the best interest of all children who needs a voice.

How do you hope to advance the mission of FLCS by serving on the board? I hopeto advance the mission of FLCS by inspiring parent, students and facility as well as board members how important it is to focus on the needs of our students and to bring anything new or awareness to the school that will help build the child and make the school to more successful.

What do you see as your greatest strengths, and what positive additions can you bring to this board? My greatest strengths are communication, coachable and teachable. I bring diversity to the board as a parent. Allowing them to hear from the parent's perspective what we are seeking for our children. Also being a liaison for the parents and the board. Some times it takes a middle person to bring things together to make thing work much smoothly and with a better understanding.

Please provide one example of something you feel FLCS is doing well. Also, what do you consider to be the most important issue for the school to focus on in the immediate future? Felton is doing well at building a better structure environment for the children as well as making the school feel safe. They are also doing well preparing the children for testing. Felton needs to continue to focus on the getting our children on test levels and focus on getting Felton back to where they use to be.

Why do you want to serve on the FLCS Board of Directors? I am a Felton graduate from 8pre school to the 8th grade. Class of 81. I now have a grandson aswell as other family members that still attend this day.

How do you hope to advance the mission of FLCS by serving on the board? I am a resident of orangeburg county. I mentor students from schools on career day. My roots my almemateor that I attended and cherish is the only school I'm not visiting. I would like to think I was preparing myself for this moment.

What do you see as your greatest strengths, and what positive additions can you bring to this board? Small business, business management and development. Political views of the county,state. (Political science)

Please provide one example of something you feel FLCS is doing well. Also, what do you consider to be the most important issue for the school to focus on in the immediate future? Communication. There was a situation with my grandchild and it was resolved within the day. Being home grown with roots in the community. Hoping for continued service.

Why do you want to serve on the FLCS Board of Directors? The reason why I would like to serve on FLCS Board is to simply help improve student achievement across the board. I have experience with serving on different boards so I do understand the importance for a school to have a strong school board with members that will have the students as a priority. I have a passion for education and I believe that education is the key for students to be successful in today's society.

How do you hope to advance the mission of FLCS by serving on the board? I hope to advance the mission of FLCS by bringing innovative ideas that focuses will focus more on STEAM. Also to help create a better community to student pipeline for involvement outside of the school. This acclimates the students and community with each other to help broaden the student options when it comes to career choices and goals.

What do you see as your greatest strengths, and what positive additions can you bring to this board? Some of my greatest strengths is my ability to communicate and working with others to achieve a common goal. I understand the positive impact of a cohesive team. Some positive additions that I can bring to this board is having experience with serving on multiple boards. I will bring a young and energetic voice. I believe in respecting others opinions and listening to what people have to say.

Please provide one example of something you feel FLCS is doing well. Also, what do you consider to be the most important issue for the school to focus on in the immediate future? FLCS is doing a superb job with putting the needs of the students and parents first. I've have had the opportunity of participating with Career Day and Read Across America, that's a great example of how the school has put the needs pf the students first.

The most important issue would be finance restructuring and enrollment. Another issue is consistency as far as administration with keeping key leaders in place.

Please provide one example of something you feel FLCS is doing well. Also, what do you consider to be the most important issue for the school to focus on in the immediate future? I feel that FLCS is sustaining its current enrollment. I feel that it is important to focus on improving or enhancing technology so that all students can have access to virtual educational processes.

What do you see as your greatest strengths, and what positive additions can you bring to this board? Leadership, governance, accountability, vision, dedication, training, and evaluation.

Please provide one example of something you feel FLCS is doing well. Also, what do you consider to be the most important issue for the school to focus on in the immediate future? The School is ready for academic achievement, strong leadership, consistency in organization and stability. FLCS is located in the Center of Education at South Carolina State University. Why do you want to serve on the FLCS Board of Directors? I am a parent who want to see FLCS strive to stay on the course of continuous greatness. I want to be a voice for the students and teachers at FLCS.

How do you hope to advance the mission of FLCS by serving on the board? The mission of Felton Laboratory Charter School (FLCS) is to provide a rigorous, creative, and diverse learning environment through Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). As a member of the board, I will uphold this mission to move FLCS to a school of excellence where the FLCS students will be able to compete on a global platform in this diverse society.

What do you see as your greatest strengths, and what positive additions can you bring to this board? My greatest strength I would bring to the table would be my educational experiences. I have taught in public education for 22 years. As a public school educator, I have worked closely with my Administrative team in developing policies and procedures for student achievement and academic growth in all of the core content areas. One positive addition would be an innovative outlook on the FLCS direction for this new generation of eLearning under challenging times.

Please provide one example of something you feel FLCS is doing well. Also, what do you consider to be the most important issue for the school to focus on in the immediate future? As a parent, I am very impressed with the collaborative teamwork of the teachers at FLCS. They work hard during the COVID-19 Pandemic to keep the students educational engaged in their assignments. Academic excellence on the school report card.

Why do you want to serve on the FLCS Board of Directors? I have always liked Felton. After my tour of duty in the Army, I moved back home and enrolled my children. My grand daughter is the second generation to attend the school. Although Felton is a great school, I have seen Felton at its pinnacle. I want the school to become a place of recognition and high achievement again. I know that I am capable, with the board, of helping the school surpass the former achievements.

How do you hope to advance the mission of FLCS by serving on the board? I have many years of experience working with special needs children and their families. Many of the groups in which I served needed board members who were also fundraisers. The ability to obtain additional funds is paramount. As a hands on grandparent, I feel that I could use my expertise in fundraising, government and community funding to foster school improvements and provide additional resources to help move the student achievement gap.

What do you see as your greatest strengths, and what positive additions can you bring to this board? My past board experience gives me an edge when learning duties and responsibilities.

My experience has prepared me to contribute from the first day. I can bring an encouraging mindset and a willingness to help. Also, I am excited at the prospect of working with an organization I love.

Please provide one example of something you feel FLCS is doing well. Also, what do you consider to be the most important issue for the school to focus on in the immediate future? In the past year, I have seen immense improvement in discipline as well as keeping parents informed. I think the most important area of focus should be getting the state test scores to an acceptable level. A second focus should be facilities improvement so that the children can have a more comfortable setting to learn and excel.
