How-To Change Account in :

This document will show you how to change your account settings in Outlook Express 6. Outlook Express 6 is the default client install in Window XP.

Note: These settings will work in Office 2003 as well.

Step 1 : Open up Outlook Express

Step 2 : Click on Tools in the menu bar

Step 3 : Under the Tools menu click on Accounts:

Step 4 : After you have clicked on Accounts under the tools menu the Internet Accounts window will open. Once that is open click on the mail tab:

Step 5 : After you have clicked on the mail tab click on the mail.cbpu.com account make sure that is highlighted. After that is highlighted then click on the properties button to the right:

Step 6 : One you click on the Properties button a new window will open, and that will be the properties window for the account. Once that window is open click on the Servers tab:

Step 7 : Now that you have clicked on the servers tab it should look like the picture below:

Step 8 : You will need to make sure you add @mail.cbpu.com to the user name, and check the box My requires authentication . Then after you have added the @mail.cbpu.com , and check the box for My server requires authentication then your Servers tab should look like the picture below:

Step 9 : After you have confirmed that everything looks as it does in the picture above you will need to click on the Advanced tab:

Step 10 : After you have clicked on the Advanced tab it should look like the picture below:

Step 11 : There are three things that will need to be changed on the Advanced tab. The first thing will need to be Outgoing mail (SMTP) port number to 465, and then check both boxes that say This server requires a secure connection (SSL) :

Once you have made those changes to the Advanced tab it should look like the picture below:

Step 12 : Once you have changed the Outgoing mail (SMTP) port number from 25 to 465, and then checked both boxes for This server required a secure connection (SSL) . Then you can go ahead, and click apply to apply the settings then click the ok button at the bottom of the window.

Step 13 : After you have completed all of the steps listed in this Hot-To, and have confirmed that all of the settings have matched the pictures. Then you should be all set.
