NSDL - Trusted by more than One Crore account holders
SEBI’s directive for Mandatory requirement of PAN new feature to Users of IDeAS who have forgotten SEBI has vide its Circular No. CIR/MRD/DP/22/2010 their passwords or have entered wrong passwords dated July 29, 2010 informed regarding the (upto three attempts) to auto-reset the password mandatory requirement of Permanent Account on IDeAS. This feature is made available for Users Number (PAN) for all transactions in the securities exclusively availing IDeAS facility. The auto-reset market. SEBI has specifi ed that in order to ensure password facility is not available to those Users who better compliance with the Know Your Client (KYC) have subscribed for both IDeAS as well as SPEED-e norms, it has been decided that with effect from facility. 2. Fill-up the CRF. 3. Submit the CRF alongwith the Statement of Account to your DP. 4. After due verifi cation, the DP would sent the CRF and Statement of Account to the Asset Management Company (AMC) / Registrar and Transfer Agent (RTA). 5. The AMC / RTA will after due verifi cation confi rm the conversion request sent by your DP and credit the mutual fund units in your demat account. NSDL/POLICY/2010/0075 dated July 1, 2010 and NSDL/POLICY/2010/0079 dated July 7, 2010, which is posted on NSDL website www.nsdl.co.in.
Reporting of OTC Transactions in Certifi cates of Deposit (CDs) and Commercial Papers (CPs) SEBI has vide its Circular No. CIR/IMD/DF/6/2010 dated July 30, 2010 specifi ed that all SEBI Regulated entities shall report their OTC transactions in CDs and CPs on the FIMMDA reporting platform within 15 minutes of the trade for online dissemination of market information with effect from August 16, 2010. FIMMDA will issue detailed operational guidelines in this regard. This has been informed to Participants vide Circular No. NSDL/POLICY/2010/0086 dated July 30, 2010.
NCDO training / certifi cation programmes for Participants NSDL conducts training and certifi cation programmes for Participants to increase the availability of trained personnel for depository operations. In July 2010, such programmes were conducted in Agartala, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Changanacherry, Chennai, Coimbatore, Gurgaon, Hubli, Hyderabad, Kochi, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Meerut, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik, New Delhi, Pune, Raipur, Rajamundhry, Rajkot, Ranchi, Vadodara, Vishakhapatnam and Warangal. 1,306 persons attended the training programmes conducted at these locations.
Swastika Investmart Limited becomes operational as a Participant of NSDL In July 2010, Swastika Investmart Limited (DP ID IN303833) became operational as a Participant of NSDL. It will conduct its depository operations from Indore. This takes the total number of operational Participants to 287 and the total number of DPM set-ups to 360.
Closure of Edelweiss Finance & Investments Limited Participant Operations Edelweiss Finance & Investments Limited (DP ID IN303462), a Participant of NSDL has informed NSDL about its decision to discontinue depository operations. Clients of Edelweiss Finance & Investments Limited are requested to get their securities transferred to the accounts opened with any other Participant or get them rematerialized. This has been informed to Participants vide Circular No. NSDL/PID/2010/1543 dated July 19, 2010.
Closure of BLB Limited Participant Operations NSDL has informed all its Participants that pursuant to the closure of Participant operations by BLB Limited, its certifi cate of registration as a Participant of NSDL has been cancelled by SEBI and it has ceased to act as a Participant. This has been informed to Participants vide Circular No. NSDL/PI/2010/1562 dated July 19, 2010.

17. Do I necessarily need to have a DP account with the SCSB where I intend to submit the ASBA application? No. Investors need not necessarily have their DP account with the SCSB, where they are submitting the ASBA form.
18. Can I submit my ASBA to a broker as is being done in the present issue process applying through cheque? You are required to submit ASBA to the SCSBs only.
19. Can I apply in an issue through ASBA facility and through “normal existing system of payment through cheque” in an issue? No. An investor can apply either through ASBA or through existing system of payment through cheque. If an applicant applies through both, ASBA as well as non-ASBA then both the applications having the same PAN, will be treated as multiple application and hence will be rejected.
20. Are the bids submitted through ASBA and uploaded in the electronic bidding system of the stock exchange, in case of public issue through book building, refl ect in the demand graphs displayed in the website of stock exchanges? Yes. The bids received through ASBA mode will also be refl ected in the demand graphs displayed in the website of stock exchanges.
21. Who is responsible for errors in the data uploaded in the electronic bidding system in case of public issue? In case there is an error in the data furnished in the application form submitted by investor, the investor shall be responsible. In case there is an error by SCSB in entering the data in the electronic bidding system of the stock exchanges, the SCSB shall be responsible.
22. Will I get the acknowledgement of receipt for applications submitted through ASBA from the SCSB? Yes. The SCSB shall give a counterfoil as an acknowledgement at the time of submission of ASBA and also the order number, generated at the time of uploading the application details, if sought by the investors in case of need.
