Die Aktivitäten in diesem Reiseziel 3 Aktivitäten in 5 Tage 2/23 Temple of Heaven Ticket Tag 2 General admission and city pass 18/05/2020 The Temple of Heaven was the place where emperors of the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) and Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911) held their Heaven Worship Ceremonies. It is the largest and most representative existing masterpiece among China's ancient sacrificial buildings. First built in 1420, the Temple of Heaven is enclosed by a long wall. The northern part within the wall is semicircular symbolizing the Heavens and the southern part is square symbolizing the Earth. The northern part is higher than the southern part. This design shows that the Heaven is high and the Earth is low and the design reflected an ancient Chinese thought of 'the Heaven is round and the Earth is square'. With this combo ticket you can access the Temple of Heaven’s Park and the 3 top attractions inside it: The Circular Mound Altar, the Imperial Vault of Heaven, and the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests. \nRedeem information Voucher type: E-Voucher E-voucher. It was forbidden to access without a special permission from the emperor; hence its name 'The Forbidden City'. Once you cross Tiananmen Gate, you will access a walled complex covering an area of 1,110,000 square meters. This magnificent architectural complex known in China as the Palace Museum, holds paintings, calligraphy, ceramics, and antiquities of the imperial collections. Since yellow is the symbol of the royal family, it is the dominant color within the walls. Roofs are built with yellow glazed tiles; decorations in the palace are painted yellow; even the bricks on the ground are made yellow by a special process.
