As the provincial art gallery of New Brunswick, the Beaverbrook Art Gallery presents a rotating schedule of contemporary and historical exhibitions that give focus to the art and visual culture of New Brunswick and the Atlantic region, as well as of Canada, Britain, and other regions of the globe, as reflective of the particular nature and strengths of the permanent collection.

The Gallery’s permanent collection includes approximately 5,000 works. Some of Atlantic Canada’s finest artists are represented within it, including Molly Lamb Bobak, Mary Pratt, Alex Colville, Tom Forestall and Yvon Gallant. Other notable holdings include international artworks by Thomas Gainsborough, John Constable, Lucian Freud, the only oil painting of his work on public display in Canada, J.M.W. Turner, Joshua Reynolds, Graham Sutherland, and Salvador Dalí's masterpiece Santiago El Grande. The Gallery also hosts temporary and touring exhibitions from across Canada and around the world.
