Also, It does not change aspects and aesthetics which is a good thing, we don’t require something heavily modded like MIUI. 2. Phoenix OS – for everyone. Download Phoenix OS | Android 7 Dual boot guide. Phoenix OS was released shortly after the publication of the Remix OS. At the time it went popular, especially because it was the only Android operating system to work on 32-bit machines. PhoenixOS is a great Android operating system, which is probably because of features and interface similarities to the remix operating system. Both 32-bit and 64-bit computers are supported, new Phoenix OS only supports x64 architecture. It is based on the Android x86 project. It has many good features if you want to play games like PUBG Mobile. Download os yosemite dmg. The Phoenix OS installer makes it easier to install the operating system on your hard drive/USB drive. This is an only android x-86 fork that currently offering updates and hopefully, they will continue to do so in the future. If you lack good computer hardware you can test the KitKat/Marshmallow x86 build which is 350+MB image file you can burn into a USB to create bootable media. After, simply boot and use the Android OS. Also android-x86 ports of Android Lollipop and Marshmallow you can use in computers with moderate hardware. Note: For most users, the 64-bit version should just work fine, people with the single onboard processor can use the x86_64 build . 4. Bliss OS – latest x86 fork. Download Bliss OS | Android 10. Blisspop is pure Android x86 ports but with few modifications like the taskbar and system stability. You can also launch apps in Windowed mode rather than the full-screen which helps opening two or more apps side by side. A note about Openthos and Bliss OS : When testing both OS failed to boot over UEFI firmware, they run successfully when Legacy mode was turned on from the BIOS settings. So if you have a computer with only UEFI firmware you maybe not be able to boot both of the Android Operating systems from a bootable media device. But if you insist and like to test them you can use a virtual machine software to run them on the operating system you are using. Some of the modern computers might have support for Legacy mode, but you need to enable it from the BIOS settings. So technically if you are running on Windows 8 or newer your computer probably has support for UEFI firmware in you might face problems booting these two so check in your BIOS settings if you can find Legacy mode and enable it. For people who care less about highly modified Android OS under a Windows look-alike skin but still want some usability features should try this. 5. FydeOS – Chrome OS + Android. Download FydeOS | Chromium OS with Android App support, 64-bit only. Use Eicher tool to make bootable USB. FydeOS is based on chromium fork to run on Intel computers. To install Android Apps, open “Android App” from shelf (app drawer) it’ll ask for an agreement after that you can just download .apk file and open them to install. 6. OpenThos – ahh IDK. Project abandoned and unknown status | Download OpenThos. Openthos is new, and it supports Android apps and apps in multi-windows. For this to run your computer’s CPU should be 64-bit architecture. Getting the ISO file of this operating was a task itself. First, you have to go through the link and enter the password, and later you need Baidu client software where you need to create an account (which is also problematic because everything will be in Chinese) then you can download the operating system image. Moreover, tested in the Legacy mode as it failed to boot in UEFI mode. If you really want to test put android OS on your computer, you may probably want Phoenix OS or something near stock-like Android x86. OpenThos vision is good on paper but still, it has not achieved a great user experience just yet. Remix OS (Dead) Download Remix OS & review. [Marshmallow, discontinued ] Remix OS — the first best Android operating system is released in 2016 by Jide. It was the discussion topic because of its similarities to Windows 10: the taskbar, notification system, etc. Remix OS supports both 32-bit and 64-bit computer architecture and can be easily installed whether PC is UEFI-based or Legacy. If you want a great Android operating system, then Remix OS will work best. For starters , you have to make a bootable USB remix OS so you can directly boot and run on a computer. Then if you wish to keep running it from USB, you can do so by creating persistence USB that will allow running this Android operating system from a USB drive. Otherwise installing it on the hard disk is a better option when you solely want to have this as your primary operating system. Remix was probably the greatest Android OS until it was pulled off and discontinued. You can still use this operating system by downloading its system image, but you need to know that you will be using a system released back in 2016 with no future updates. Tutorial: How to Install Mac OS on Windows PC using Virtual Machine. There were a large number of new features and additions introduced in macOS Mojave that made it successful. In particular, Dark Mode, Stacks and the improved App Store received fine praise. Additions to the Finder and Screenshot features helped improve their ability to serve the needs of the users greatly. The focus on strong security for the user's information was also viewed favourably. At the same time, the macOS received criticism for its beta performance issues. Not all the features implemented on the system were completely developed either. Despite these shortcomings, macOS Mojave was seen as a powerful step forward for Apple towards its future products. Productive Features of macOS Mojave 10.14.1. Here are some of the features that were introduced in Mojave and some of the pre-existing ones that have been reworked: Finder Quick Actions- This is a useful feature that will allow users to create a PDF or rotate an image without the use of an app. The user can explore the kind of actions that they can perform by checking out the Quick Actions menu. Finder Preview Panel- Like before, this feature allows the user to have a small glance into a document or an image without actually opening it. Additionally, users will now be able to be aware of details about the document or images such as the date of document creation or the kind of lens used for taking a photo. Quick Look- A pre-existing app on macOS Sierra, Quick Look allows users to see files, folders or photos without even opening them. With the new Markup feature, photos and PDFs can now be cropped or rotated. Text can also be added to them. Security improvements- Ad trackers that constantly bombard users with advertisements when they show interest in a product will now be blocked by the macOS. The macOS also now asks the user for permission for apps to use their Mac's microphone and camera. Permissions will also be asked for other things such as browser data and message history. Safari Favicons- Since favicons were not available in Safari before, most people preferred to use Google Chrome. Now, favicons are available in Safari which means that users will be able to enjoy what they have been desperately waiting for. With the aid of favicons, users will now have much greater ease identifying their tabs without having to open them. This may be a small addition but it has made many users incredibly ecstatic. Dock- This is a pre-existing feature that can be used to get to apps and features that users are prone to access on a daily basis. In macOS Mojave, the Dock will show users up to 3 apps that they have used recently. Since not everyone is a fan of this feature as some find it annoying, they can turn it off if they wish. Facetime- Users can now chat with up to 32 people at the same time. If there is a group call happening, each participant can join in whenever they want during the active duration of the call. Group messages can also be sent in Facetime. App Store- The App Store has received many new additions to its already impressive set of features. The newly introduced Discover tab helps users find apps that they may have missed out on before, based on their preferences. The Create app will help users who are interested in producing content through methods like video editing and filmmaking. Dark Mode- By using Dark Mode, users will now be able to switch between Light Mode as well as Dark Mode. Using this new mode, users can protect their eyes from strain when they are working at night. The blue light that is emitted from the Mac screen is not good for the user's eyes and Dark Mode helps reduce it greatly. The mode makes it easier to read text on the screen if there is good contrast between the screen and what the user is reading. Using Dark Mode can also help save battery life. Continuity Camera- If the user's Mac and iOS devices are in close proximity to each other and both have their Wi-Fi and Bluetooth turned on, this feature can be used. It allows users to have whatever they scan or take a picture of on their iOS device be immediately available for display on their Mac. This feature can save a lot of time that would normally be taken in transferring photos or documents from iOS devices to the Mac the manual way. Dynamic Desktops- This feature changes the wallpaper of Mac's screen according to the time of day. In order to use this feature, the user must have their Location Services enabled as the feature needs this information in order to be able to draw a match between the lighting outside in the user's location with the wallpaper that they have on their screen. New ported apps- A few apps have been ported to the macOS Mojave from the iOS, namely News, Stocks, Voice Memos, and Home. News is an incredibly informative app that will provide users with updates and news pages from the world. With Home, users will now be able to connect their Mac with their HomeKit accessories which help them control their environment(light-bulbs, smart door locks, etc). If you wish to use your voice to record yourself singing or create voice memos, Voice is the app for you. Users can also sync their voice memos with all their iOS devices. Stocks will help the user get all of the financial information and stock market details that they need, complete with excellent diagrammatic representations with the appropriate statistical data attached. Stacks- Having a messy desktop can be excruciating to deal with it, especially for those who try to organize the multitude of files on their Desktop and end up failing. With the Stacks option, those worries can now be put to rest. Users will now be able to neatly arrange their files into neat stacks according to their wishes. There are different fields according to which the stacking can take place depending on the user's preference such as the date the file was last modified or the date that the file was created. Stacks has been praised as one of the brightest additions introduced in macOS Mojave. Screenshot markup- There are many more options to take screenshots in macOS Mojave. These include being able to screenshot the entire screen, a specific window, or a specific area. The user is also able to screen record the entire screen or a specific part of it according to their preferences(for video purposes). They can also add text, shapes, or color to their screenshot if they wish. Siri- Siri has always been an important part of the Apple family and a great virtual assistant to users. In macOS Mojave, Siri is now able to control HomeKit devices and can also assist the user in finding their saved passwords. Updates- Normally, updates are performed through the App Store. In macOS Mojave, there is a Software Updates panel under System Preferences that has been designed especially for this purpose. Inclusion of new emojis- This may not seem like addition of great importance but the excitement that comes with it is nothing short of huge. More than 70 new emojis have been introduced to Apple's emoji family. Emojis in the mail- Emojis can now be included in the user's mails. There is a convenient shortcut available that the user can utilise in order to do this. How to download the macOS Mojave ISO and DMG files. There are certain conditions that have to be satisfied before proceeding with the download. Using a verified link online, the user should download VirtualBox or VMWare. After this is done, the user should proceed to the Terminal and type in the required commands that come under each of the specified steps below: Creating a virtual disk for the installation media. The user should check if their Mac model is compatible with the macOS that they are about to download and install. These are the models that are supported: Mac osx 64 bit iso download. For the unacquainted, distros are pirated copies of Mac OS X that have been modified to work with normal computers. Right now, using a distro is the only practical method for getting Mac OS X Lion to run a virtual machine in Windows. : This virtualization suite is free, and though it doesn't offer official support for Mac OS X, it works well enough. iAtkos : This is a popular distro of Mac OS X Lion. I won't go into details, but you can download it from just about any bittorrent website by using a bittorrent client (it's about 4 GB in size). Unlike the retail version of Lion, you don't have to use a boot CD like iBoot to start the Mac OS X installer. You don't have to use iAtkos; all distros and "bootable" versions of Mac OS X Lion do essentially the same thing. All of these distros will be downloaded as ISO files or DMG files, which are DVD images. Be sure not to download a VMWare Image of Lion, as those versions don't work with Virtualbox. Virtualbox lets you run Mac OSX within Windows by creating a virtual machine, which is a program that simulates a normal computer. To create a virtual machine, open up Virtualbox and click "New" on the upper left. Give your new virtual machine a name, and choose "Mac OS X" for the OS Type. If your version of Virtualbox asks you to choose between 64-bit and 32-bit, be sure to choose 64-bit. Choosing 32-bit will result in a critical "Guru Meditation" error later on. Start up your virtual machine. You should come up to a screen with the black-and-white picture of the iAtkos Lion. Press enter to startup the Lion installer. Continue, and you will eventually come up to a page that asks you for a "destination" for your Mac install. Oh no, the page is blank! We'll have to fix that. To do this, start up Disk Utility (located under the Utilities menu). Mac OSX can only be installed on a completely clean disk, so you need to use Disk Utility to wipe your Virtualbox hard disk. Click on the Virtualbox hard disk in Disk Utility and erase it. Don't worry, there's nothing important on it. On the installation page for Mac OSX, the Virtualbox hard disk should now be showing up. Select it and continue. Once that's done with, Mac OSX will install itself. This will take at least 20 minutes. When the installation finishes, Mac OS X will crash. This is normal. You can change "1920x1080x32" to whatever resolution best fits your monitor. For instance, if you want to use the 1600x900 resolution, type in "1600x900x32". Once you've saved it, turn off the virtual machine. Next, open the Command Prompt in Windows (make sure you are logged into an Administrator account on Windows). You can do this by opening the Start Menu, and typing "command prompt" into the Start Menu search bar. Then, type the following command into the Command Prompt. cd "C:\Program Files\Oracle\Virtualbox" This command will change the focus of the Command Prompt to the program folder for Virtualbox (if you installed Virtualbox somewhere different, then change the command to wherever you installed it). Next, type in this command: vboxmanage setextradata "Name of virtual machine" "CustomVideoMode1" "1920x1080x32" This command activates "vboxmanage", a command-line program included with Virtualbox that allows you to edit the properties of your virtual machine, including its built-in resolutions. Replace "Name of virtual machine" with the name of your virtual machine-- you can find the name of your virtual machine in the left pane of the Virtualbox main window (in the screenshot below, my virtual machine is named "Mountain Mac 2"). Replace "1920x1080x32" with whatever resolution you're using. Recap I'll just repeat what I said in my Snow Leopard guide. Installing Mac OS X on a virtual machine is excellent practice for the real thing: installing Mac OS X on your actual computer. Don't get too comfortable, though. Compared to most computers, Virtualbox virtual machines are very "vanilla", meaning that they're very compatible with Mac OS X in the first place. After all, ethernet works from the start. You can't count on being that lucky with a real PC. And even if you don't plan on doing this for real, with a Hackintosh, it's still a really cool thing to try out over the weekend. Macpup. A minimalist Linux operating system based on and designed to look like Mac OS X. What's new in Macpup 550: MP550 is based on Precise Puppy 5.5.0, an official woof build of Puppy Linux that is binary-compatible with Ubuntu Precise packages. MP550 contains all the apps from Precise Puppy with the addition of 21. MP550 also includes the E17 window manager. The EFL libraries version 1.7.5 and E17 version 17.0 where compiled and installed from source. Macpup is a completely free and open source operating system based on the minimalistic Puppy Linux distribution and built around the Enlightenment desktop environment. Distributed as a minimal dual-arch Live CD. Being based on Puppy Linux, the distribution comes with a small Live CD ISO image of approximately 200MB in size, engineered to run on either 64-bit or 32-bit hardware platforms. You must write the ISO image to a CD disc or burn it onto a USB flash drive in order to boot it from the BIOS of a computer. Minimal boot prompt. The boot prompt is also quite minimal, designed to allow the user to quickly start the live environment with default boot options or by loading the contents of the ISO image to RAM (system memory), ejecting the bootable medium. Advanced users can easily edit the boot options and add extra kernel parameters. Beautiful desktop environment powered by Enlightenment. The beautiful desktop environment of Macpup is powered by Enlightenment, which does not look like a Mac OS X graphical session. It is comprised of a single panel/dock located on the bottom edge of the screen. Default applications. Default applications include the HomeBank personal finance manager, Gnumeric spreadsheet editor, AbiWord word processor, Geany IDE, Leafpad text editor, Viewnior image viewer, InkLite vector graphics editor, mtPaint digital painting tool, Mozilla Firefox web browser, gFTP file transfer software, Transmission torrent downloader, uGet download manager and XChar IRC client. Bottom line. While the main design goal of this Puppy Linux derivative is to provide users with a Mac OS X-like desktop experience, we have to disappoint our readers since it seems that the Enlightenment desktop environment does not look like a Mac OS X graphical desktop interface. However, it looks very nice the way it is and will run extremely fast on low-end computers.
