MORYZ As a child I felt the need to sing each moment of the day. I turned daydreams or experiences into songs. Just to sing gave me a feeling of being happy. Later on I got the chance to sing for an audience in which I always tried to use my voice for creating moments of silence. In shows, productions, open-air theatres and several plays I got the chance to show the world why music is a universal language we all understand. In 2007 I started my first band and for three years we had a wonderful tour called ‘Swingin’ Senses’ in which we had the opportunity to cooperate with Percy Sledge. After this club tour a new era of music started due to the cooperation with QWasp Recording Corporation and MEC van de Beeten. During five years of intense work and lots of recording sessions in the studio of MEC van de Beeten I discovered new layers in music. As a result we released the album ‘Sans Frontières’ and with a new band we arranged new songs. Our French Club Night tour was well known through our new French music with a touch of soul. Inspired by the beautiful timbre of Jacques Brel we recorded modern French pop music embraced by the audience in The Netherlands and Belgium. A highlight of this tour was the cooperation with Liesbeth List and Thijs van Leer. Next to this I joined several productions to mention a specified version of the ‘Passion’ in which I played Jesus during wonderful performances together with an orchestra by night. Since 2010 I also focussed more and more on my societal responsibility resulting in several studies for minorities and work for the UNESCO. I try to show the value and need of realising a better life for minorities in our society. With our new music I also want to show the world that we have to strive for equal chances for everyone. Inspired by stories of Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela our music shows stories of a thousand others experiencing life and translated in the universal language, music.
