E-BIKE, DELL’ORTO (CONFINDUSTRIA ANCMA): EVEN MORE SPACE FOR THE DEDICATED AREA AT EICMA 2018 The President of the association: “The market is growing very strongly, our companies are leaders”

Milan, 6 Sept. – “The market is recording a very strong growth: last year alone, almost 150,000 e-bikes were sold, equal to +19% compared to 2016 and this year’s numbers are also very positive.” This is what Andrea Dell’Orto, President of Confindustria ANCMA (Ntionl Association of Manufacturers of Bicycles, and Accessories) said yesterday morning on the radio programme Capital Start Up.

“Electric pedalling mobility,” Dell’Orto added, “is now a consolidated reality at global level and our companies are also contributing to playing leading roles in this context, not only in manufacturing, which in 2017 grew by 48% but also in the whole supply chain in terms of components, design and patents.”

Dell’Orto then anticipated that at the 2018 EICMA, the International Bicycle, and Accessories Show to be held in the pavilions of Milano Rho Fair from 6 to 11 November (the days of 6th and 7th will be exclusively for the press and professionals) “there will be a whole area dedicated to e-bikes to discover, test and come into contact with everything that is new concerning the universe of electric bikes.”

“Innovation,” concluded the President of the association alongside the interview, “has always been central in our show, at EICMA there is room for new trends and the most advanced solutions concerning mobility on two wheels. For the e-bike area, in particular, it is already the third year that it has been offered in the show as an opportunity for companies and enthusiasts and this year it will occupy an even larger area compared to the previous editions, confirming the growing interest around this world, which drives us to continue our activity of promotion and support.”
