CMD Message From the Desk of CMD Dear Colleagues, My heartiest greetings to you all. We have just completed the Fiscal Year 2012-13. I am very much delighted to note that the year 2012-13 was a successful year for NLC. I take this opportunity to share with you my immense pleasure and satisfaction on our excellent performance during the year 2012-13. I am very glad to note that we have exceeded the targets in all categories of the production front and registered a significant growth when compared to the previous year 2011-12. Overburden removal from all the Mines put together comes to 1674.97LM3 showing a growth of 1.42% over the previous year 2011-12. Total Lignite production has come to 261.97LT (Lakh Tonnes), which is 6.54% more than that of previous year. In power generation, all the Power Stations put together have generated 19901.79 Million Units, registering a growth of 5.92% over the previous year 2011-12. We can proudly tell, this is the ever time high production level in the history of NLC. Also, I am very happy to say that 139.32 (MTPA), 2.00 MTPA Devangudi Mine and 2.50 MTPA Hadla & LT of Lignite production in Mine II and Power generation of 11238.26 Palana Mine. In Power sector, projects viz. First unit of 2x 500 MW MU in Thermal Power Station–II and 3319.70 MU in TPS-I Neyveli New Thermal Power Project, 250 MW Barsingsar Thermal Expansion are the highest for any year since inception.
