I am the Executive Director of the Nashville Songwriters Association International ("NSAI"), a position which I have held since 1997. I submit this declaration in support of the submission of Mechanical Licensing Collective ("MLC") to be designated as the mechanical licensing collective pursuant to the Music Modernization Act (the "MMA"). Songwriters are the backbone of the American music industry. And, since it was established in 1967, NSAI has worked tirelessly to advocate for the American songwriting profession. NSAI is now the largest not-for-profit songwriter trade association in the world, with approximately 5,000 members and approximately 100 local chapters. 3. Our mission is to advocate for songwriters' legal and economic interests and educate a new generation of American songwriters. To accomplish this mission, NSAI provides an array of services to songwriters. Some services are educational. For instance, NSAI helps songwriters improve their craft through: workshops; mentoring from experienced songwriters; feedback on songs from experienced writers and peer-to- peer review; online services for our members; regularly-held song contests and other events; pitch sessions; and in connecting aspiring professional songwriters with colleagues in the music industry. -

west coast music Everyday People Please find attached the ‘Everyday People’ song list for your review. SPECIAL DANCES: Please note that we will need to have your special dance requests, (i.e. First Dance, Father/Daughter Dance, etc) FOUR WEEKS prior to your event so that we can confirm that the band will be able to perform the song(s) and so that we have time to locate sheet music and audio. In cases where sheet music is not available or an arrangement for the full band is needed, this gives us time to properly prepare the music. Clients are not obligated to send in a list of general song requests. Many of our clients ask that the band just react to whatever their guests are responding to on the dance floor. Our clients that do provide us with song requests do so in varying degrees. Most clients give us a handful of songs they want played and avoided. If you desire the highest degree of control (allowing the band to only play within the margin of songs requested), we would ask for a minimum 80 requests. ‘LOW ROTATION REQUESTS: We will also need any General Requests that are chosen from the ‘Low Rotation’ portion of this song list (pages 8-9) FOUR WEEKS in advance prior to your event. 4/14/2020, 9:00AM ‘How I’m Feeling’ brings mixed feelings Lauv falls into melancholy malaise By HOLLY GASKILL Ari Leff, who performs as Lauv, moves away from his classic love songs in "How I'm Feeling." In the modern age of love and loneliness, Lauv released a catchy pop album about mental battles. Ari Leff, who performs under the stage name Lauv, released his long-anticipated album, “How I’m Feeling,” on March 6 after releasing six singles over the last year. Although Leff’s xrst album came out in 2014, he gained mainstream popularity after the release of his second album in 2017, featuring pop love songs, “I Like Me Better” and “Paris in the Rain.” With each new single, however, Leff introduced a new aspect of the story that was going to be revealed in “How I’m Feeling.” Moving away from his classic love songs, Leff released “I’m So Tired” as his xrst new single, where he proved that he was done with simple and unrealistic love songs. The full release of the album revealed a complete ode to struggling to xnd something real. "I think part of what made me so sad was feeling like I trapped myself in this bubble where I can only be this one-dimensional person because that's what I thought people expected of me,” Leff said in a “Vogue” interview. “I was so afraid to let people down or give them something they didn't want, so I kind of pushed down a lot of my personality." Amidst temporal fame, one-night stands and messy break-ups, Leff writes about his ups and downs through an undeniably catchy mix of pop beats, acoustic instruments and unique vocals. -
