Tasks involved amplification, filtering, digitization of signal originating from the differential output of load cells Investigation of Thin Film-Coated Silicon Substrate for Interferometric Reflectance Imaging Sensor (IRIS) Applications, Senior Design Fall 2016 - Spring 2016 • Worked as a part of a two-person team to improve IRIS biosensor’s performance by means of substrate surface modification. • Deposited number of inert materials and analyzed resulting nanofilms for chemical and optical properties Optical Heart Rate Monitor Fall 2014 • Designed and built a fully functioning Heart Rate Monitor. Tasks included setting appropriate modulating frequency of LED, amplification of signal through the set of Op Amps, incorporation of band-pass filters, and extraction of pulse-bearing signal via demodulation. Signal was sampled at a proper frequency, and heart rate was calculated through an algorithm in MATLAB.
