Wayne Smith, Texas State Representative and offshore oil and gas and tidal sectors. Met Chair of The Energy Council, Ms. Lori Cameron, Executive Director and with a number of international oil and gas Consul General Paula Caldwell St-Onge and tidal companies, networking events, Tour of BP Westlake Operations Facility at Canadian News Conference at Other delegates included representative from Municipality of the District of (OTC) Houston, conference key note Guysborough, Mayor Mike Savage, Chris d’Entremont, Frank Corbett speaker, and several industry meetings. Participated in Canadian Press Conference Included extensive briefings with BP and Met with Chief of Staff, U.S. Department of the Interior Shell on their plans, expectations, and Schottel (Tidal interest) requirements in NS. NS delegation Meeting with BP executives included 33 NS businesses, a DSME Reception representative from the NS PC and NDP parties, as well as industry association Meetings on behalf of NS businesses representatives.

Industry & Regulator Meetings - New May 7-8 Meetings with Shell Executives Orleans Offshore tour Stenna Max (rig vessel being used in NS) Oil and gas industry and regulatory Oil and gas regulators in the Gulf of Mexico (BOEMR/BESSE) meetings with US government on key cross-border initiatives for offshore, and meetings related to oil spill protection and environmental planning.

TRAVEL (Minister) DATE (2014) AGENDA Oil & Gas Industry Meetings – Korea May 28–June 1 Several government-related meetings with respect to potential investments in Nova Scotia including companies, associations and government officials. To promote oil and gas investment in Nova Scotia. This trip originated from an invite to the Nova Scotia government from the Korean government to explore energy investment possibilities in Nova Scotia. Meetings and discussions with the Canadian embassy on coordination and cooperation issues.

Meetings to discuss future bidding for offshore parcels, as well as wind energy projects in Pictou.

Some initial outcomes included GE certification, planned Korean visit to Nova Scotia, possible future bidding on offshore parcels, and furthering development of LNG import opportunities to Korea from Nova Scotia.

Delivered on a public commitment from Outcomes included the announcement of a commercial partnership with the Minister in March 2014 to travel to Nova Scotia, additional cooperation with tidal energy research between NS Europe to meet with tidal berth holders and U.K. universities, additional investment in NS for renewables, especially and pursue further tidal energy tidal, finalization of some outstanding issues related to the tidal berth development. Maritime Link Benefits Agreement Nov 26 Nova Scotia Energy Minister, Andrew Younger, Newfoundland and between the governments of Nova Labrador’s Minister of Natural Resources, Derrick Dalley and Chris Scotia and Newfoundland Huskilson, President and CEO of Emera attended a ground-breaking (Bottombrook, Newfoundland) ceremony, and also signed an Industrial and Employment Benefits agreement for the Maritime Link Project. This agreement is based on the terms outlined by the interprovincial Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that was signed by the provinces in late 2011.
