The Orange Bowl Committee is a non-profit sports organization that promotes and serves South Florida. OUR VISION

he Orange Bowl will promote championship sporting events, related premier entertainment, and other year-round activities to inspire youth, engage our T community and enhance the South Florida economy. The Orange Bowl Committee was created in 1935 with the mission of generating U U U tourism for South Florida through an annual football game and supporting events. The non-profit, sports organization that promotes and serves the South Florida community has grown to 348 members since its inception. It has expanded beyond Greater Miami to become a cornerstone of the entire South Florida area.

he Orange Bowl supports organizations and events both in and outside of South Florida on an annual basis, benefitting numerous charities, funds T and groups. In 2011-12, that support totaled nearly $70,000. In addition to its financial support, the Orange Bowl has invested thousands of volunteer hours in supporting non-profit organizations in South Florida such as Special Olympics, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club and many more.

The Orange Bowl also contributes to locally-based organizations and causes, including those that provide participatory opportunities to youth from all over the world, such as the Junior Orange Bowl (which is not affiliated with the Orange Bowl Committee). Additionally, through its Kicks for Kids program, the Orange Bowl collects and donates new and gently used sneakers and cleats to ensure that every child can have the opportunity to participate in youth sports. In 2011- 12, the Orange Bowl surpassed its goal of collecting and distributing 1,000 pairs of athletic shoes to children in South Florida.

The Committee is also there in times of need, providing funding to those impacted by adverse circumstances, and will continue to do so in the future. The Orange Bowl’s donations to institutions, organizations and individuals affected by such things as natural disasters and tragedy over the last seven years have totaled in excess of $250,000.

Awards recognizes those individuals who share in the Orange Bowl’s goals of selflessly giving back and inspiring South Florida’s youth and celebrate the Committee’s yearly investment in the community, which in 2011- 12 totaled nearly $1 million.

Previously known as the Orange Bowl Field of Dreams Scholarship Benefit, contributions from the event annually go to multiple beneficiaries whose missions reflect that of the Orange Bowl’s. Additionally, the Orange Bowl presents a number of awards, including the Keith Tribble Impact Award and the Orange Bowl Jr. Courage Award, which recognize individuals who have positively impacted South Florida through their own the contributions and perseverance.
