Sustainable Planning Act 2009 ADOPTION OF THE PLANNING SCHEME Notice is given in accordance with the Sustainable Planning Act 2009 that, on 27 January 2016, Somerset Regional Council adopted a new planning scheme (Somerset Region Planning Scheme) which replaces the Esk Shire Planning Scheme 2005 (as amended) and the Kilcoy Shire Council Planning Scheme 2006 (as amended). The Somerset Region Planning Scheme will have effect on and from 1 March 2016. Notice is also given that, on 27 January 2016, Somerset Regional Council adopted new planning scheme policies to support the Somerset Region Planning Scheme. The new planning scheme policies will have effect on and from 1 March 2016. The name, purpose and general effect of each of the new planning scheme policies is as follows: • Planning Scheme Policy 1 – Ecological Assessment Guidelines Provides guidance for assessing ecological values within specific areas identified on the Biodiversity Areas Overlay Maps OM-003. • Planning Scheme Policy 2 – Heritage Places Identifies heritage places to assist in the interpretation of the Local Heritage Overlay Map OM-0011. • Planning Scheme Policy 3 – Catchment Management Analysis Guidelines Provides guidance for assessing how development responds to catchment management and water quality within specific areas identified on the Catchment Management Overlay Maps OM-005.
