Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program Strives for early detection of cancer in those women at highest risk, including the uninsured, the medically underserved, minority, and elderly women. Provides Pap exam screening services at selected health department clinics, Community Health Centers and private providers to uninsured women between the ages of 40 and 64. Mammography screening is available through contracted providers to uninsured women between 50 and 64 years of age and older. Women 40 to 49 are eligible for screening mammograms when special funding is available. Special exceptions are available for women between the ages of 18 and 39, but only with prior approval.

Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) Provides health care insurance for children in families without health insurance or with inadequate health insurance. Eligibility is based on household income, the age of each child and the insured status of each child.

Children’s Medical Program Provides medical and surgical care to children with chronic or disabling conditions. The service is available to state residents up to 20 years of age.

Diabetes Prevention and Control Program The Mississippi Diabetes Prevention and Control Program is a federally funded state-based program established for the purpose of reducing the incidence and prevalence of type 2 diabetes in Mississippi and increasing the quality of life for all persons. Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment Program (EPSDT) Provides free health check-ups for children under 21 who are eligible for Medicaid benefits.
