With full grids, slipstreaming battles I did on the committee. and close finishes, they certainly were the tonic we were looking for after what seemed to be an eternity during lockdown. They were the mainstay of all three meetings. So, will they be there at the MGCC meeting in May? Clue is in the name – but some may sneak in! I would like to thank all the marshals, compet- itors and officials for our/their efforts so far. We have had to deal with race stoppages, safety car periods, multiple recoveries, along- side all sorts of weather thrown at us during the CSCC meeting. I’m sure Vivaldi didn’t write the Four Seasons with marshals in mind! With some NW marshals venturing further afield to Donington, Cadwell Park, Croft and Silverstone, it is encouraging to see that the passion for our hobby has not diminished over the winter season.

MINI CHALLENGE 2020 Contents 1 Meet Callum 4 2 Sponsorship & Prices 7 3 Media Coverage 8 4 Hospitality 10 5 2020 Calendar 11 1 WELCOME CALLUM NEWSHAM Callum Newsham is the son of British Touring Car Championship regular Dave Newsham. Following just two seasons of club Karting, Dave decided to retire from the BTCC and concentrate of Callums racing career which meant the leap into car racing. Looking at all of the motor racing formula’s in the UK one stood out to Dave, the Mini JCW Challenge Championship. With a one-make series, talent wins over budget, the cars are the closest you can get to a fully fledged BTCC racer, large grids of talented young drivers will also test Callum to the fullest. 2018 Season: This was a steep learning curve for Callum having never even driven a racing car before, he now had to master the 260BHP monster or a racing car the Mini JCW. His results were as expected, battling for places outside the top 25, but finished the season edging towards the top ten. He completed the Championship 23rd out of 31 drivers. 2019 Season: With literally no testing due to budget constraints, Callum would have to continue his learning at race meetings. We set ourselves an ambitious target of finishing the season inside the top ten. Callum proved to be very consistent over the course of the season, with just two none finishes, neither his fault.
