One of them aerial photos taken by UAV pictures to use in architectural photogrammetry.In this study, Photogrammetric study was conducted in the ancient church next to the pothole. The study was completed with photographs taken from the air with UAV and close range photogrammetry. The images obtained from both methods adjusted in photogrammetric software and obtained a three- dimensional model of the church. Photography by UAV has proved to be a technical supporters of close range photogrammetry. Also coordinates of the reference points on the images obtained through photogrammetric software and compared with terrain coordinates. Point position accuracy of points mxyz = 2.1 cm were found. In order to protect the world heritage of cultural heritage IHA help to be sensitive enough to measure derived from aerial photographs taken, can be used as a base to work from different professional disciplines, The UAV was concluded in anywhere near the height can be used for photogrammetric. Distribution of soft -bottom mollusks (Mollusca) in Mersin Bay (eastern Mediterranean Sea) Turk J Zool 2012; 36(4) 430-446 © TÜBİTAK Research Article doi:10.3906/zoo-1103-15 Distribution of soft -bottom mollusks (Mollusca) in Mersin Bay (eastern Mediterranean Sea) Erhan MUTLU1,*, Mehmet Betil ERGEV2 1Fisheries Faculty, Akdeniz University, 07050 Antalya - TURKEY 2Derinsu Underwater Engineering and Consulting Company, Kavaklıdere, 06680 Ankara - TURKEY Received: 27.03.2011 Abstract: A total of 44 molluscan species belonging to 5 classes were identifi ed in 3 transects (including depths of 10, 25, 50, 75, 100 and 200 m) located in Kumkuyu, Limonlu, and Erdemli. Overall, no signifi cant diff erence in community parameters such as diversity index, evenness index, and species richness was found among transects. Th e species abundance showed seasonal and depth-wise variations. Th e highest species richness (6-16 species) was encountered between depths of 10 and 100 m in winter and spring, whereas the molluscan population increased in warm seasons due to the high abundance of Corbula gibba and Nucula nitidosa. Bivalves and gastropods were abundantly found at depths of 10-200 m, 10-25 m, and 75-100 m. Two main molluscan assemblages were determined: the fi rst assemblage occurred in the shallow water (10-50 m) and was characterized by high abundances of C. gibba, Abra alba, and Tellimya ferruginosa, and the second occurred in deep waters (75-200 m) and was characterized by the presence of Falcidens gutturosus, N. nitidosa, and Astarte fusca. Depth, the fi ne-grain size of sediment, and total organic carbon were the main factors governing the distribution of the mollusks in the area. -

Abstract: Conomurex persicus, one of the tropical conchs, has been introduced to one of the subtropical regions, the northeastern Mediterranean Sea, and invaded sandy bottoms between 1 and 10 m deep. Population dynam- ics were studied from specimens collected with a standard dredge (60 x 15 cm mouth opening, 0.5 x 0.5 cm eye opening of net). Samples of C. persicus were collected monthly along the 5 and 10 m depth contours off Erdemli, Mersin, Turkey, in February and May 2000. Intra-annual density depended on salinity levels, while inter-annual density was correlated with bottom water temperature. Specimens underwent spring emergences and winter burial and sheltering (disappearance). Emergence took place in March when temperatures rose and the disappearance occurred in October-November when temperatures dropped. Adults live at 10 m, juveniles are recruited at a 5 m depth. Recruitment began in April and continued for the next 6 months. In contrast to shell width or shell lip thickness, shell length was not a convenient index for estimation of growth parameters. Annual production and mortality were calculated to be 7.86 g m-2 and 3.80 g m-2, respectively, in April-November.
