Online applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the regular 2 yr. B. Ed course for the academic session: 2018-20 at the Department of Education, Aliah University. 1. Method Subjects Available: (i)Arabic (ii) Bengali (iii) English (iv) Persian (v) (vi)Islamic Theology (vii) History (viii) (ix) Mathematics and (x) Physical Candidates are to choose one method subject. Candidate may choose method Subject either from Honours/Subsidiary/Pass subjects in UG level or Subject of PG level and accordingly their names will be enlisted as per the method subject to be mentioned in the application form.

2. Total no. of seats is 100. 3. Reservation: 10% of total seats are reserved for Deputed Candidates (5% for teachers of Theology and 5% for teachers of other subjects). 10% of total seats are reserved for Candidates from other in Urdu & Persian and other subjects. 3% of the total seats are reserved for Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates.

4. (i) Selected candidates shall have to reside within a reasonable proximity of the Institution. (ii) Medium of instructions: English except language subjects. (iii) Candidates (both Deputed & Fresher) must verify eligibility, age, availability of method subjects before filling the application form. (iv) Candidates engaged in any other course of studies / job/ full-time research work (except the deputed candidates) shall not be allowed to pursue this course simultaneously. (v) Deputed Candidates: Teachers teaching in class IX onwards in recognized High Madrasah /Sr. Madrasah of are eligible to apply. (vi) If the seats reserved for deputed teachers remain vacant, they shall be de-reserved and offered to fresher of Aliah University. (vii) The B. Ed. Programme shall be duration of two years, which can be completed in a maximum period of three years from the date of admission to the Programme. 5. The eligibility criteria for admission to B.Ed. course:-  For Method Subjects Sl. Nos. (i) to (ix) candidates with at least 50% marks in 3-yr. Honours Graduation / 2-yr Master’s degree / 5-yr Integrated Master’s Degree in respective discipline be eligible to apply.  For Method Subject Sl. No. (x) Candidates with at least 50% marks in in 3-yr. Honours Graduation /2-yr Master’s degree /5-yr Integrated Master’s Degree in / Chemistry are eligible to apply.  Candidates having Hons. /PG in Electronics /Computer Application / Computer Science / B.E. or B. Tech in Computer Science & /Electronics & Communication/ Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering shall be eligible to apply in Physical Science as the method subject provided that a candidate has studied Physics/Chemistry as a subject of at least 200 Marks at the Graduation level.  Candidates having Honours/PG in Statistics/ shall be eligible to apply and in this case they shall have to take Mathematics as the method subject provided that a candidate has studied Mathematics as a subject of at least 200 Marks at the Graduation level.  For fresher candidates, in case of Honours Graduate, the marks obtained in Honours subject will be considered.  In case of General Graduates, the total marks obtained in General/Subsidary/Pass subjects will be considered.  Internal - (i) Students who have completed UG/PG degree with at least 50% marks at either level from Aliah University. (ii) Students who are studying in UG/PG in Aliah University having at least 50% marks at UG level. 6. Compulsory attendance for both Fresher and Deputed candidates  must have 80% of attendance in Theory and 90% attendance in practicum in each course for appearing the examination.  Students who have 79% to 50% of attendance have to submit Medical Certificate issued by competent authority.  Students who have below 50% of attendance are not eligible to appear for the examination. Note- If a candidate remains absent for one month from his/her date of admission and fails to report then his/her admission will be cancelled without any notice and the next candidate from the merit list will get admission.

7. Admission procedure for B.Ed. Course for the session 2018-20. (A) For Fresher candidates: Admission to this course shall be based on merit cum entrance test. In B.Ed. merit will be prepared by giving 60% weightage to marks obtained in the entrance test and 40% to the marks obtained in different academic examinations from class X to UG only.

The Entrance test will be of one hour duration. The Question Paper shall consist of 60 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) from the following four areas: (i) Knowledge of Islamic Studies and Culture: 10 marks (ii) General Knowledge and Current Affairs: 10 marks (iii) Teaching Aptitude: 20 marks (iv) Reasoning: 20 marks

There will be negative marking for wrong answers. For each wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted.

Scores against marks for different level of academic examinations will be as follows: Examination Passed % of Marks Score Class X A A 0.1 Class XII B B 0.1 UG (Pass) C C 0.15 UG (Honours) D D 0.2

Instructions for the calculation of % of Marks: (i) For Class X , marks obtained in Additional subject should not be considered. (ii) For Class XII/H.S., consider the marks obtained in 1st Language, 2nd Language and best three subjects. Marks obtained in Environmental Education should not be considered. (ii) For General Graduates, the total marks obtained in the three subjects will be considered only. (iv) For Honours Graduate, the marks obtained in Honours subject will be considered. In case of a candidate not qualified in Honours subject should consider the marks obtained in Honours subject and Pass subjects together. (v) In case of two students have secured same marks (academic + admission test) then the student having highest marks in UG level will be placed first in the merit list. (vi) No marks will be given for PG/ M.Phil/Ph.D. degree. (vii) Candidates who have once taken admission in B.Ed. programme but did not continue the same will not get re-admission.

(B) For deputed Candidates: Provisional merit list along with waiting list shall be prepared on the basis of their approved length of service. In case of same length of service of more than one candidate the 2nd and 3rd criteria will be the Academic score and Date of Birth respectively. Deputed Teachers from recognized High Madrasah and Sr. Madrasah of West Bengal are eligible to apply. Applicants deputed by Madrasah must submit an attested copy of M. C. resolution recording the approval of Service in regard to his/her service at the time of counseling. Following additional documents are required to be submitted positively on the day of joining the Institution: (i) Release order from the Headmaster / Superintendent (ii) Attested copy of M.C. resolution with regards to his/her deputation (iii) Certificate from Competent Authority whether the candidate teaches in Class IX or above (iv) Three copies of passport size photographs of the applicant (v) Deputation form duly filled in (available from the Institution after admission) (vi) A certificate with the following information is to be submitted from the Secretary or Headmaster/ Superintendent (where he/she is serving) and counter signed by the D. I. of Schools of the District concerned: (a) Certified that the Madrasah is in receipt of aid on full/ deficit/ lump sum grant basis or that Madrasah is unaided or salary deficit scheme one (b) Certified that she/he is duly approved teacher (c) Certified that she/he is being deputed by the Madrasah for training in 2018-2020 (d) Last pay drawn on 1st June 2018 is Rs. ------(Rupees ------only) N.B. - No increment of pay will be given from the Institution. Deputed candidates are directed to report to the Institution immediately after the admission along with his /her fee book for deputation. Payment of deputation allowance and stipend, if any, will be made on receipt of grant from the Competent Authority. The University will in no case be liable for the delay in payment of deputation allowance and stipend. (C) Course Fees to be deposited at the time of admission (1st year): For Fresher: (i ) For Internal/Aliah University students: Admission fee is Rs. 10,000/- + Caution money Rs. 1500/- i.e. total Rs. 11,500/- (ii)For External/Other University students: Admission fee is Rs. 10,000/- + Caution money Rs. 1500/+ Registration Fee Rs. 1000/- i.e. total Rs. 12,500/-

For Deputed Candidates: (i) For/ those who have done UG/PG from Aliah University: Admission fee is Rs. 20,000/- + Caution money Rs. 1500/- i.e. total Rs. 21,500/- (ii)For External/Other University students: Admission fee is Rs. 20,000/- + Caution money Rs. 1500/- + Registration Fee Rs. 1000/i.e. total Rs. 22,500/- Course Fees to be deposited at 2nd year are as follows: For Fresher: Rs. 10,000/- For Deputed Candidates: Rs. 20,000/- 8. Age Limit: st For Fresher Candidates age should not exceed 35 years as on 1 July, 2018. No age limit for Deputed Candidates. There shall be relaxation of 5 years for Persons with disability (PwD) category candidates. 9. Application Procedure: Log on to the University website http://www.aliah.ac.in and click on the link Admission to B. Ed. Programme: 2018-2020 or log on to the website http://auat.mycollegeform.com. (i) Read the eligibility criteria carefully before starting your application process. Applying in a subject you are not eligible for will only cause your application to be rejected & application fee will not be refunded. (ii) Fill all fields and complete the entire application process at one go. If you leave it in between, you will have to start the process once again. (iii) After you complete the form and made payment, you will get a unique application ID. Please use this ID in all communications. (iv) Candidates filling the online application can pay the application fee through online payment mode (Debit card / Credit card / Net Banking). Make sure you have the Card details ready before starting the application process. (v) You need to upload the scanned images of your photograph and signature in the online application form. Each of maximum Size- 200 KB in JPEG/JPG/PNG format. Desired size for Photo is 200x200 and signature is 300x100. (vi) If name of the (a) method subject, (b) University last attended, (c) Category i.e. Deputed or Fresher and (d) PwD (if applicable) are not mentioned properly in the online application form, the application is liable to be cancelled . 10. Submission of hard copy of online Application along with self-attested photocopies of Marksheets from class X to UG/PG, Age proof certificate, Caste certificate(if applicable) and PwD certificate(if applicable) is mandatory. Applicants are advised to submit the hard copy of Online Application alongwith all testimonials to the Chairman, AUAT Office, Action Area-IIA/27, New Town, Kolkata – 700 156 on and before 20.04.2018 within 5 pm in a sealed Envelope mentioning name of the (a) method subject, (b) University last attended, (c) Category i.e. Deputed or Fresher and (d) PwD (if applicable) on the Envelope. Candidates are advised to take a print copy of the online application and bring it at the time of admission. (i) Applicants must produce testimonials in Original in support of age, qualifications (mark sheets), experience (if any), caste certificate and PwD certificate (if applicable) fee receipt etc. Verification of all original documents will be made and only after document verification, the candidate will be recommended for admission by the University admission committee. If any short-listed candidate fails to produce original documents at the admission table, his/her candidature will automatically be cancelled and the next candidate in the merit list would be given the opportunity of admission. In case of any dispute, the decision of the admission committee will be the final. (ii) Candidates applying for admission under Persons with disabilities (PwD) category must submit his/her Permanent Disability certificates issued by competent authority at the time of admission. (iii) Applicants are advised to follow the university website: http://www.aliah.ac.in for all information/ notification related to admission. No individual communication related to position in the merit list, date of admission etc. will be made. If any candidate fails to follow the instructions / information given in the website and misses any step, the University will not be responsible for that. The University reserves the right to drop any name if any suppression of facts on the part of the applicant is detected at any stage before or after the admission.
