ABSTRACT Conceptual art is an important movement that happened from the mid-1960s through the mid- 1970s. The contemporary conceptual art is a kind of artwork that spot on conveying unique ideas. This artwork could be merged between multimedia or mixed media such as performances, happenings, videos, photography and painting. The concept of visual arts plays an indirect important role to show the problems in the societies, which is coded by signs to give the people good awareness. This project will show the phenomena of the contrast between peace and war through the conceptual art as an idea for virtual utopia environment, which titled (City of Angels). Many approaches deal with this topic (peace and war) but in photographs, sculpture or painting. All previous approaches are not sufficient for two reasons. First, time has changed; the arts are not isolated from the global communication. Then the conceptual arts were created to merge between the fine arts and digital characteristics, which needed to be read or to decode its sign for people’s awareness through media communication plus art. Second, the rapid evolution of digital and global communication, which means that many practical publications such as a conceptual art project (City of Angels) are required daily to follow the emphasis on the role of visual identity communication for people’s awareness, especially in the digital and visual arts, which will be reflected on how the arts will be consistent with rapid temporal and spatial development. In this Project, the semiotic method for showing the conceptual art sign in the contemporary visual and hybrid will be presented. The

examined case study through a conceptual art project (City of Angels) expected to proof the effectiveness of the semiotic method in decoding the contemporary arts and communicate indirectly with audience's sub consciousness, in terms of the identity visual community, and mental cultural.

Community Service

Regarding the experience as a Module Leader (Photography & Multimedia) and Academic Activities advisor, I arranged a big project with my students titled as (Faces from Egypt) includes many goals such as arranging many photography exhibitions. I organized six Photography exhibitions for my students at BUE title as 1st (Faces from Egypt), 2nd (Best Shot at BUE) 3rd (Egyptian Industry) 4th (City Identity) 5th (Egyptian Woman) 6th (Woman Struggle) during the period 2014- 2018. 1. City Identity Project Core idea: To avail the outstanding BUE student skills in photography in various activities to produce excellent materials about Egypt to be used for promoting tourism. The proposed solution can be divided in to two phase: Phase 1: Conducting series of exhibitions and festivals with a main event of showing faces from Egypt which are not just portraits but also historic architectures, and generally all the beauty can be seen in Egypt through the lens of BUE students. Produce an online website dedicated for “faces from Egypt”. Objective of phase 1 is to achieve the following major points: - Recording the beauty of Egypt. - Changing the culture and mentality of people through art and beautiful scenes to leave them a good environment to protect and maintain. - Touching the Egyptian’s hearts targeting removal of the dust from their good values and loyalty to their country. Phase 2: Availing the success of phase 1, we will organize phase 2 which will include international activities as we need to transfer and exchange the students between Egypt and UK to conduct mutual photo sessions in both countries, then to organize exhibitions in co-operation between the universities that can accept the notion of making those events at their side and invite them to participate in the same events in our side, and we propose to select LSBU university in UK as a start. Objective of phase 2 is to Exchange views of the students in both countries about the other. Enhance the Egyptian image in the eyes of foreigners and drive them to give best of their experiences to the benefits of Egypt through planning the photo sessions for them previously and present their products in the interior exhibitions in Egypt and put best of their products in the book and website.
