CHARACTERISTICS:

Hot-dip aluminized steel sheet combines the mechanical properties of cold-rolled steel sheet with aluminum’s high resistance retention, heat reflection, and superior rust resistance.

FEATURES:  Very fine grains due to the suppression of the growth of aluminum crystal during solidification of aluminum melt.  Uniform surface condition and excellent resistance resulting from the sacrificing effect of aluminum.  Good appearance after painting.

SUPERIOR HEAT RESISTANCE: The heat resistance is excellent compared to zinc-coated steel sheet, galvanized steel sheet and cold-rolled steel sheet. Absolutely no changes in appearance and discoloration are observed even extended exposure to temperature of 450*C. At temperatures higher than 450*C the coating mate- rial transforms to aluminum-iron layer so that heat resistance and corro- sion resistance are preserved even if discoloration occurs. The coating main- tains its sacrificial properties up to the temperature of approximately 600*C.

TRANSFORMATION OF COATING LAYER WITH HEATING:

SUPERIOR HEAT REFLECTIVITY: The highly elegant surface of ALUMINIZED STEEL reflects about 80% of the heat at a temperature of 450 degrees Celsius. Its reflection rate goes up to 95% where infrared rays are present. This makes ALUMINIZED STEEL the ideal choice for producing the heat reflector plates in toasters, ovens, gas ranges and oil stoves.

CORROSION RESISTANCE: The corrosion resistance performance of ALUMINIZED STEEL was tested with respect to exhaust gas and verified to be better than EGI or CR steel sheet and to be comparable to .

WEATHERABILITY: ALUMINIZED STEEL is provided with excellent weatherability even under se- verely corrosive environments as in industrial area due to its tendency to form a fine and stable oxide layer ion the surface.

FORMABILITY: ALUMINIZED STEEL has generally been understood poor in formability due to the presence of brittle alloy layer between the steel and aluminum layers. But compared with cold-rolled steel sheets and galvanized steel sheets, DQ and DDQ grades of ALUMINIZED STEEL shows better formability.

PAINTABILITY: Paintability of aluminum coating is better than of galvanized steel sheet. In or- der to improve paint adhesion quality, chemical treatment is necessary. It is recommended the use of the following grades of paints: vinyl resin paint, polyurethane resin paint, silicon resin paint, phenol resin paint, lacquer.
