(Only applicable to sports model quartz watches) How to adjust the watch

Setting the time (1) Pull the crown out to the second position (for watches without a second position, pull the crown out to the first position) and turn it to adjust the hour and minute hands. After the hour and minute hands are adjusted, push the crown back into its normal position to align with the standard time. (2) When adjusting the hours in a clockwise direction, the date and day are also adjusted slowly. For every 24 hours adjusted in a clockwise direction, one day will pass on the date or day. Therefore, when adjusting the hours, the time should be adjusted before adjusting the date and day. (3) Please correctly adjust morning (AM) and afternoon (PM). If it is not possible to confirm, please follow the following method: adjust the crown clockwise to pass from 12 o’clock to 4 o’clock. If the date does not change during this action, then the corresponding 12 o’clock is noon. Otherwise, it is 12 o’clock midnight. (4) Watches with a 24-hour clock function do not require separate adjustment of the 24-hour clock hour hand.

Setting the day and date

(1) Pull the crown out to the first position and turn it clockwise or anticlockwise to adjust the date or day. After adjusting the date and day, push the crown back to its normal position. Some watches do not have a day function. (2) Do not try to change the date or day between 9:00pm and 5:00am, otherwise the date or day may not be changed correctly on the following day. (3) In February and in those months that only have 30 days, manual adjustment of the date is needed at the end of the month. (4) When the watch date and day position are different from the display, the above method can also be referenced to make adjustments.

Configuration of stopwatch hand initial position

(1) When the stopwatch stops and its hands are not at the zero position (12 o’clock position), or after changing the battery, it is necessary to reset the stopwatch hands to their starting position. (2) Pull the crown out to the second position and press Button A to adjust the stopwatch hands back to their initial position (12 o’clock position). After adjusting the stopwatch hands back to their initial position, press Button B to cause the stopwatch to return to the initial position. Push the crown back to its normal position. (3) If the stopwatch hands do not return to the 12 o’clock position, do not push the crown back, otherwise the position of the stopwatch hands at the point when the crown is pushed back will become the initial position.

How to use the stopwatch

(2) Cumulative stopwatch

Start Stop Restart Stop Reset Tachymeter function on sports model watches

(1) On multifunctional sports watches that have the tachymeter function, the dial or top surface will have irregular notches and numbers, and the wording “TACHYMETER” (as shown in the image of the dial ring on the right). The numbers indicate speed per hour. (2) The tachymeter function can measure a vehicle’s moving speed. When measuring, use the second hand to determine how long it takes to travel one thousand metres. The tachymeter scale, indicated by the stopwatch second hand, shows the speed per hour. The tachymeter function can only be used for times below 60 seconds. If the measured distance exceeds one thousand metres or is less than one thousand metres, the following equation can be used to calculate the speed: Stopwatch second hand Tachymeter function

Notch value x distance travelled = speed

For example: if the second hand shows a notch value of 90, and the distance travelled is 2,000 metres or 500 metres, then the speed is:

90 x 2 = 180 (km/hour) 90 x 0.5 = 45 (km/hour) Note: 1. The time on watches with a calendar cannot be adjusted in an anticlockwise direction past 12 o’clock midnight, otherwise damage may be caused to the watch. 2. Please see the instructions for special operations relating to some multifunctional sports watches. 3. Because of the large number of quartz watches with multiple hands, there are also different functions and ways to use the watches. The above examples might not cover all quartz watches with multiple hands. For the other quartz watches with multiple hands, please contact the Rossini service centre. 4. Due to movement functionality, a few watch models will display 32, 33, or other numbers on the date display after the 31st day. In such cases, please adjust the date accordingly at the start of every month. Mechanical watch power indicator function

Mechanical watches that have the power indicator function often have a separate small second hand used specifically to display watch power. The small second hand moves back and forth within the range of the small second hand notches. The notched numbers on the small second hand dial indicate approximately how much longer the watch can operate. Power indicator small second hand Notes: 1. On watches using normal crowns, the crowns do not have an ‘O’ position. 2. On watches without a manual winding feature, the crown has no operative function when in the O position. 3. When adjusting the date on some women’s mechanical watches, the crown is pulled out to the second position and then pushed back to the 1st position to adjust the date. For each pull, the date will move ahead by one day. 4. On watches without a calendar, the crown has no second position, and the first position is the position for adjusting the time. Important 5. On watches with a manual winding mechanism, it is necessary to manually wind the watch every day in order to ensure the watch operates normally. On automatic mechanical watches without a manual winding function, it is necessary to shake the watch back and forth multiple times with the same speed and vigour when it stops operating, to cause it to rapidly automatically wind and resume normal operation. 6. Do not adjust the time in an anticlockwise direction past the 12 o’clock midnight position, otherwise the watch may be damaged. 7. The power indicator function is only able to display an approximate remaining operating time. When the hand approaches the zero position, the watch could cease to operate at any time. ABOUT THE PRODUCT AND PRODUCT CARE Mechanical watches: Rossini mechanical watches use high-quality automatic or manual winding mechanical movements. Automatic mechanical movements are generally marked as “AUTOMATIC” on the dial. After sufficient winding, it is possible to achieve continuous operation of 36 hours or more. So long as there is enough activity, wearing the watch for more than 8 hours per day can provide sufficient momentum to the movement. When the watch is worn for an insufficient amount of time, it is recommended that it be shaken horizontally for one minute in the evening after being removed, to provide sufficient winding. Some automatic mechanical watches can also be manually wound by manually turning the crown. Manual winding mechanical movements should be wound by manually turning the crown, so as to ensure the watch has sufficient momentum. Manually wound mechanical watches are fully wound when you are unable to be wind any further. Do not force the winder when you reach this point to prevent damage to the watch movement. Mechanical watch time variance: Mechanical watches rely entirely on mechanical structures to ensure the precise passing of time. Therefore, there is a certain amount of variance when compared to quartz watches. Based on the regulations prescribed for high-quality mechanical watches in accordance with national light industrial standard QB/T 1249, men’s watch dial daily variance (meaning the variance over 24 hours on the watch dial in a test environment) is -10 ~ + 25 seconds / day. Women’s watch dial daily variance is -15 ~ + 40 seconds/day. Rossini mechanical watches utilise high-quality mechanical movements, and the company strictly controls time variance in accordance with QB/T 1249 standards on high-quality products. Due to differences in actual wearing conditions such as those relating to temperature, humidity, local environment, and watch working position, the actual variance per day may slightly exceed the high-quality product range. If variance is consistently relatively high for multiple days, then it may be necessary to make variance precision adjustments to the movement. Quartz watches: Quartz watches are powered by a battery and utilise the stable high frequency vibrations of quartz crystals as a basis for time. Therefore, quartz watches have a high degree of reliability and accuracy in timekeeping. According to the provisions of national standard GB/T 6044, high-quality quartz watches on average have a daily actual variance of + 0.5 seconds. During internal testing at Rossini, we strictly adhere to the requirements for high-quality products when implementing controls. During normal usage, Rossini quartz watches can ensure that the time variance will not exceed + 20 seconds over the course of a month.

Watch materials for cases and : Stainless steel is currently the most commonly used watch material due to its durability, ability to prevent rust, as well as its anti-magnetic and anti-corrosion advantages. steel and ceramics are high-tech new materials, and their hardness is close to that of natural diamonds. They do not wear out easily, are as brilliant as mirrors, and their surfaces are not easily damaged or scratched during everyday usage. However, they have relatively poor resilience against impacts. Therefore, knocking or dropping watches should be avoided during normal usage. Precious metal materials are soft, and not resilient to wear and tear. Therefore, we generally do not choose carat as a watch material. For individuals who have experienced allergic reactions to stainless steel, tungsten steel, or leather, selection and purchase should be conducted carefully. Watch glass materials: We generally select quartz glass or sapphire glass as watch glass. Sapphire glass has a high level of hardness that is only slightly lower than diamond. It is a hard material that is not easily worn out. During normal usage, care must be taken to prevent your watch glass from making contact with sand or other relatively hard objects so as to avoid scratching the glass. In addition, care should be taken to avoid impacts, as relatively strong impacts could crack the glass and cause the glass to scratch one’s skin.

Watch water resistance: Rossini watches are all water resistant to 30 metres (3 bar). The backs of watches have the wording “WATER RESISTANT” or “WATER RESISTANT 30M”. Watches with higher water resistance will state “WATER RESISTANT XXM” on the back, in which “XXM” refers to the depth of water resistance. For example, “50M” means that the watch is water resistant to 50 metres (5 bar). Water resistant watches should not be used in warm water, showers, or in environments where there are intense temperature changes. Under such circumstances, the watch’s water resistant materials will age at a more rapid rate and this could affect water resistance performance.

Watch anti-magnetic protection: Watches should not make contact with or be placed near locations with strong magnetic fields. When wearing the watch, if a motor or engine or other object with a strong magnetic field is nearby, or if the watch is placed near home appliances with strong magnetic fields such as radios, televisions, or speakers, the watch could be magnetised by the magnetic field. After the watch is magnetised, inaccuracies in timekeeping may occur or the watch could stop. Watch anti-vibration protection: Watches are relatively precise instruments, and the movement will not be affected by normal activities during the course of your day. However, intense activity or impacts could exceed the scope of tolerance of the movement, and could damage the watch. Therefore, during intense activities, it is best to take the watch off. In addition, the watch should generally be kept away from intense impacts.

Battery: Rossini quartz watches utilise imported high-quality batteries whose usable lifespan is normally two years or more. Some watch batteries can be used for over five years. Because the period from production, shipping, and sale can consume a portion of the usable life of the battery, the usable lifespan of the batteries of different watches can also vary. Some Rossini watches have functions to indicate when power is low. When the watch second hand only jumps every few seconds, this means the battery is about to run out and should be replaced as soon as possible. Anti-corrosion protection: Watches should be kept away from contact with solvents (such as alcohol and gas), mercury, cosmetics, aerosols, adhesives, paints, and other corrosive gases or liquids, so as to avoid causing coloration changes, deterioration, or damage to the watch surface as a result of corrosion. If such a circumstance is encountered, use clean water to promptly rinse the watch surface clean. Dirt, dampness, and moisture that accumulate on the watch surface and strap or bracelet could cause rust corrosion, so a soft dry cloth should be used regularly to clean the watch surface.

Watch care and maintenance: Wear and tear will be incurred to the watch during the course of normal use. This can include consumption of lubricating oil and aging of water resistant parts that cannot be repaired. Therefore, in order to ensure your watch operates normally and correctly, we recommend that you regularly care and maintain your watch. When conducting maintenance on the watch, water resistant parts can be replaced, movement performance can be tested, the movement can be cleaned and external appearance can be maintained. This not only allows your watch to continue to remain in good working order, but also extends its usable lifespan. Quartz watches should receive a full maintenance approximately once every 5 years, while mechanical watches should receive a full maintenance approximately once every 3 years.

Watch strap and bracelet care and maintenance: Metal bands could collect dirt over long periods of use. In such a case, simply use a soft cloth to wipe away the dirt. If the dirt cannot be removed, a neutral cleaner can be used with a small amount of water to dip the metal in, then a soft fibre cloth can be used to wipe the metal clean. Leather can be protected using watch strap leather oil. If contact with water is made, leather strap surfaces should be dried using a dry cloth as quickly as possible. Leather can age over long periods of usage, at which time it should not be bent or twisted, so as to avoid breaking of the leather. If the leather has an abnormal odour, simply use a toothbrush and a small amount of soap to briefly rinse the dirt away and then use a slightly moist cloth to wipe it clean. Avoid immersing the leather in soapy water.

Storage: After purchasing a Rossini watch, please do not discard the protective watch box. This box can be used to safely store your watch when it is not in use, preventing the watch from being dropped or knocked. Moreover, it is recommended that when the watch is not used for long periods of time, a habit is developed of placing it in the box after cleaning it. This will greatly reduce the wear and tear on the watch, and reduce the chances of damage. When storing the watch, a desiccant can be placed in the box along with the watch, but do not use mothballs, insecticides, or other chemicals. When the quartz watch is not being worn, please pull the crown out to the first or second position (the position where the second hand does not move), which can conserve power. Mechanical watches that are stored and not worn for long periods of time should be regularly rewound every month to prevent the parts from sitting in an idle state for overly long periods of time. This will ensure the movement can operate and perform normally. AFTER-SALES SERVICE AND REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE Contact Details
