Wednesday- Friday: Students will receive their new unit and will start to work on literary elements (Character, Setting, Plot) the first essay on their core book (starts this week as well) will be due next week, so reading is ESSENTIAL.

Friday- Reading Logs due: Students may draw out new reading logs on a sheet of paper. As long as there is a title, a date, and a signature for each step (15 minutes per step) it will be acceptable.

Thursday and Friday- We will start our next unit on Genre Study. This unit is going to focus around the Fantasy Genre. We will start our read alouds. Myself and other adults will upload videos to Google Classroom over the coming weeks reading from, “The Girl of Fire and Thorns”, by Rae Carson. Students will have to complete journal entries throughout this process. The first journal entry will be due Friday and will be found in Google Classroom.

Wed-Friday: Body and Intro Paragraphs: After mapping out their essays, students will work on creating and editing their essays, paragraph-by- paragraph. Instructions and video explanations will be posted later in the week.
