Recorded on: 23 October Doctor Who: Echoes of Grey by John Dorney The Company was a powerful Earth -based corporation in late 21st century and early 22nd century with strong government connections. It was behind such institutions as the Elite Programmeof which Zoe Heriot was Echoes of Grey as a child, and the Whitaker Institute in Echoes of Grey. When the Company became aware of Zoe's history as a time travellerthey were seeking knowledge of what she had learned. Zoe refused to cooperate with them, so the Company engineered her arrest on charges that carried the death penalty, threatening to have her executed unless she could prove she had travelled in time and share the secret of time travel with them. She was being interrogated by Company employees Jen and Kym. The Company used the Apollo space station to develop a virus capable of transferring itself to living tissue and other matter. The virus eventually destroyed the Apollo and the Artemis. Zoe came to the Artemis with Kym, who tried to take the virus data for herself. Zoe sent a modified version of the virus to the Company's headquarters where it would take out the Company's entire computer mainframe and then self-destruct before it could spread to any organic matter. In the process, the virus was also released into the escape shuttle, destroying it as Kym gave up her own breathing mask to keep Zoe alive before pushing her out of the ship into space, where she was eventually recovered by Jen. Now free of the Company, Jen continued to help Zoe recover her memories, even as they seemed to become increasingly hazy Echoes of Grey her. Mahogany Murderers in itself was an extremely special release. The Mahogany Murderers serial had always been a popular one, and a key reason for that is down to how lovable the characters of Jago and Litefoot are. So expectations were extremely high for this audio. Mahogany Murderers only cast members are Christopher Benjamin, Trevor Baxter, and Lisa Bowerman — the last of which Mahogany Murderers only plays the barmaid Ellie Mahogany Murderers but also directs the story. Ellie would eventually become a major character herself in the spin-off, but in this story, her role is small, as Jago and Litefoot meet at the Red Tavern to discuss one of their adventures. The Companion Chronicles often featured companions telling a story to someone else, with the occasional bit of dramatization via the inclusion of another character. Having Jago and Litefoot tell their side of the same adventure to each other allows for two great things. First, it gives both characters an equal share of the story, with neither one overshadowing the other. However, even better than that is how much the story feels like hearing an actual conversation between these two. They interrupt each other constantly. They lie or overlook certain details before the other picks up on it. They even discuss their private lives in a natural way as well as their own perspectives of the world.
