Decades of globalisation and technological innovation have created tremendous economic growth, but a growing proportion of the population has been excluded from contributing to, or benefiting from, economic prosperity. A lack of inclusive growth has given rise to heightened social tensions, voter discontent, and the return of populism and protectionism in many countries.

There is a growing consensus among business and policymakers on the need for a new growth model that “creates benefits for all groups of the population and distributes the dividends of increased prosperity both in monetary and non-monetary terms, fairly across society.” To date, however, there has been no comprehensive effort to link business practices and governments policies on inclusive growth.

The Business for Inclusive Growth Platform aims to fill this gap; this launch event will explain how. Together, OECD Chief of Staff and Sherpa to the G20 Gabriela Ramos, and Danone CEO Emmanuel Faber, will present the purpose and key objectives of the platform, and how it will be used to leverage and maximise the capacity of the private sector to reduce inequalities and drive inclusion. L'absence de croissance inclusive a provoqué des tensions sociales accrues, le mécontentement des électeurs et le retour du populisme et du protectionnisme dans de nombreux pays.

En partenariat avec d’autres organisations, IOTA promeut également la tortue géante d’Aldabra comme symbole pour l’écotourisme, et soutient des activités de sensibilisation et d’éducation. Description EN This session is set-up to launch of “Impact Fund For Africa” (IFFA), a new impact investment fund based on blended finance for the creative arts and fashion in Africa. IFFA will be managed by Roberta Annan Capital Partners. Its social impact and the SDG monitoring will be led by the Ethical Fashion Initiative. The fund is a partnership between ITC Ethical Fashion Initiative (United Nations) and The African Fashion Fund.
