AN VOYAGE from TO Aboard the 5-Star Le Lyrial September 18–27, 2018

Featuring renowned mezzo- SUSAN GRAHAM

Dear Traveler,

We invite you to join fellow Guild members and other like-minded travelers on this splendid voyage that combines the pleasures of cruising the Adriatic, Ionian, and Tyrrhenian Seas with sublime music from one of opera’s most celebrated stars. We are privileged to have the distinguished American mezzo-soprano Susan Graham with us aboard Le Lyrial performing a memorable recital aboard ship. Also performing aboard ship will be talented artists affiliated with the Vienna State Opera, personally selected by the distinguished Director of the Vienna Opera, Dominique Meyer. These singers will offer a recital each evening of our voyage, including arias from French, Italian, and German .

While ashore, travelers will explore the charming whitewashed trulli houses of Alberobello; the prehistoric temples and medieval castles of Malta; the ancient ruins at Syracuse, Pompeii, and , and other iconic sites on our specially-crafted excursions. And aboard ship, there will be the opportunity to speak with the performing artists over meals and in casual settings, offering opportunities to get to know them as people as well as performers.

Your venue for this musical odyssey at sea is the deluxe Le Lyrial, a state-of-the-art small ship with accommodations for no more than 244 guests. Elegant, comfortable, and gracious, Le Lyrial is the perfect setting for our carefully-curated music and sightseeing programs, and ensures you’ll have a truly unparalleled travel experience.

If you wish to explore one of Europe’s most beautiful and historical regions in a style that is beyond the ordinary while enjoying extraordinary music, we hope you will join fellow opera lovers aboard Le Lyrial for this unforgettable voyage.

Sincerely,

Richard J. Miller, Jr. President, The Metropolitan Opera Guild
