SPRING IN PARIS & NORMANDY

You can be one of a group of BB&N students who will spend ten days in France next Spring accompanied by two members of the BB&N faculty. This exchange is offered every other year only. BB&N has had an exchange with the Lycée Victor Duruy for more than 45 years, with a hiatus of a few years. Each BB&N student is paired with a student from the Lycée, and during the group's stay in Paris lives with that student's family, sharing in family life. There is only ONE BB&N student per French family. When the group from the Lycée comes to BB&N you in turn will host your French counterpart.

This year, we will first visit Normandy. This region is full of historical sites, from the D-Day beaches to the Mont Saint-Michel. Students will connect with World World II American History at the Caen Memorial and the Colleville-sur-Mer American Cimetery, climb to the top of a rock to one of the most admire sites of France, and rest in the quaint medieval village of Bayeux.

Our trip will continue to Paris. From the taste of a hot crusty baguette to the cool sweet flavor of a Bertillon ice cream, from the excitement of a Parisian scavenger hunt, to the surprising quiet of the Sacré Cœur, from the treasures of the and Orsay museums, to the team spirit of the Stade de France, this trip will provide not only an intensive language experience, but a sampling of the greatness of Paris. Our hope is that each student will bring back memories to cherish, new confidence in understanding and speaking the language and a more complete perspective of the .
