August 2015

Dear Courage House Supporter:

Courage. It’s around us every day. On the football field. In the classroom. It’s in the eyes of a child who has to look far off into their future to see his dreams. It’s in the heart of a woman who is doing everything she possibly can to make ends meet for her family. Please join us as we celebrate every day heroes and help fulfill the dreams of the littlest heroes in our community.

The Detroit Lions Courage House is proud to celebrate its 22nd Annual Courage House Dinner supporting HAVEN in its mission to end the terrible cycle of domestic and sexual violence. This year’s event, which will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 6:00 p.m. at Ford Field, promises to be another inspiring evening. Like last year’s event which featured the Detroit Lions’ head coach, Jim Caldwell as well as Ed Block Courage Award Winner, Calvin Johnson and Ricky Sandoval Award recipient, Dean Kleinschmidt, we will honor members of the Detroit Lions organization who have displayed exemplary leadership and courage both on and off the field. The event also offers an opportunity for guests to mingle with many current and former Lions players.

This year’s event will feature ESPN’s who has covered the NFL since 1990 and is regarded as one of the top reporters in the industry. His list of credentials are impressive, including being named , 2014 Media Person of the Year by Sports Illustrated’s NFL site, The MMQB, for breaking multiple significant stories during the NFL’s free-agent period and offseason and “the most influential New Yorker on Twitter,” according to data from social media company PeerIndex with nearly four million followers. Schefter joined ESPN as an NFL Insider in August 2009 and appears on several programs, including NFL Insiders, NFL Live, Sunday NFL Countdown, and SportsCenter.

Enclosed is information regarding Courage House, including available sponsorship opportunities.
