For those who want to get some warmth and escape the Nordic winter without missing Christmas and New Year at home when this is a really nice trip to do. You fly from cold Scandinavia to the capital of the Philippines Manila and then onward to the city of Dumaguete, which is known as "City of the friendly people" with all rights. Dumaguete has also been named one of the world's best ci es to re re in fact by Forbes magazine.
About 35 minutes drive south of the airport (depending on traffic) is then Dauin, a small province with just over twenty thousand inhabitants and here it is peace and quiet and far from most but here is what is needed. Dauin has recently sailed up as one of the Philippines' most popular dive des na ons and many are returning here again and again.
Also on this trip is Bent Christensen, who has been here before and who found a small paradise here with cri ers very exci ng to see and photograph. Traveling here can feel like many stops and messy at first glance, but it is not so strange and difficult nowadays compared to before and if you want to get to pearls you some mes have to take a change on the way to move on domes cally. We are lucky enough to have 6 rooms booked for you and others.
Outside the resort there are also some restaurants a few minutes away by tricycle and of course you will go out a bit and try different places to see a bit of this lovely li le province. For close to two wonderful weeks, you stay here late and dive and relax before it is me for a return trip or if you decide to extend your trip with another place in the Philippines or wish to stop in any major city on the way home.

Dauin is best known for his muck diving. What is muck diving maybe friend of order asks ?? At first glance it may seem desert but in the dark sandy bo om lives an incredibly large number of fish and invertebrates that have adapted to this environment. Fish and animals you may not have even seen in the picture or knew existed. Ghost pipe fish, sea dragons, sea moth or pegasus, Ambon scorpionfish, pipefish, frogfish, seahorses of various varie es - common and pygmy varie es, strange print fish, coral templates, miss fish and of course various "Nemos" or clown fish are just some of the strange fish you can find here with the help of the experienced eyes of the guides.
To all these many mes very strange fish a rich life and an enormous number of different invertebrates, tubeworms, bristleworms, flatworms, nudes - the sea's real orchids with pa erns and colors that Picasso could barely reproduce - shrimp and crabs in shape and color well worth a pain ng by Carl Larsson and at certain mes of the year, the sea and the sandy bo om are probably flooded by different species of octopus. Different species of sepia and the more popular species for photographers, Moto , blueringed, flamboyant, algae, cocoa, mimic and wonderpus and with good eyes also pygmy sepia all in a nice and exci ng creeping eight- or ten-eyed mix of color pa erns and shapes. In the midst of this strange marine ivy, there are o en small blocks of coral or ar ficial reefs from everything from an old car wreck, boats, car res and bo les that have been rebuilt to reefs. A ll to a ract more marine life and it is rippling off of it in many places. Big fish are a racted by the small ones and some mes even barracudas, eagle robes and mantas can pass, but it is very lucky to see these if they are there at the same me. Apo Island - the region's real a rac on. A small green island about three nau cal miles from the coast and which is very well known and popular in diving circles. Almost everyone goes here but not at the same me and the number of visitors per day is limited. The reefs are very nice and here both divers and snorkelers gather together with those who just want to go out and spend a day out on the island. Turtles go thirteen on the dozen and of course plenty of fish. With a li le luck you can see fox shark and even hammer shark but it is not very common but does occur. The most common sharks are otherwise different reef sharks.
An incredible contrast to the sandy bo oms on the coast. Most people visit this place more than once and here it is all day trips that apply with usually three dives a day. A popular feature is also Oslob, which is located north of the island of Cebu. Here it is basically a 100% guarantee to see whale sharks but it is booked on the spot and in the name of honesty it is a bit of a tourist trap, although it is fantas c experience to see these world's largest fish. 60 minutes in the water and then it is more common diving on the way home. This is also a full-day program with a total of three dives.

0301 - 221 00 | scubatravel.se [email protected] Liquid Dumaguete Resort Liquid Dumaguete Resort in Dauin on the island of Negros in the Philippines is conveniently located directly on the beach and offers in addi on to relaxing scuba diving various land tours. The resort has a total of 14 rooms spread over standard and deluxe. All rooms are basic but func onal and have a small veranda outside where it is nice to slip down a er the day's diving. Close to restaurant / bar and diving center and with large areas outside the rooms. Diving is mainly from boats but some mes also land dives by car. Large amounts of marine life accumulate on the sandy bo oms. Diving in the region is best known for muck diving and small fun animals and different fish but here are also coral reefs and the proximity to the famous Apo Island with its fine reefs and many turtles have made diving in Dauin very popular in recent years. In recent years, really big animals such as killer whales, dolphins, humpback whales and even blue whales have some mes passed here, but even threashersharks and hammerheads have been seen on a few occasions. More and more divers come here to enjoy the simplicity, comfort and varied diving and relaxa on. For those who want to experience a bit of land here, waterfalls, beau ful views and visits to the market some day are usually fun.

Experienced diver and traveler with a lifelong and very great interest in animals, plants and ecosystems. Very interested in biology, and combines the interest with being a lecturer in ecology at Umeå University. Bent teaches and conducts research. a. on tropical ecology, and specifically on symbiosis on coral reefs. Bent is very interested in spreading knowledge about biology in general, and more specifically about the many very strange animals and plants found in the tropics. A special interest is different types of symbiosis, where the coral reef has many excellent examples of how different species of good and evil live together. Bent is also an experienced nature photographer, who has illustrated many different scripts, and has wri en and illustrated a book on the ecology of coral reefs. Right now he is doing a textbook in ecology. In recent years, Bent has been an expert in more than 100 different television programs, focusing on animals, ecology and biology. Bent has been diving since 1999 and has worked as a tour guide on diving trips since 2005. Through his great interest in biology, benefit has been able to combine with pleasure. Bent has dived in most of the world's warm waters, but currently focuses mostly on Indonesia and the Philippines. On trips with Bent, aY will be able to get help and ps with his photography, aY get help with figuring out what one has seen during the dive, and in different ways, o en shorter and informal lectures, get more coherent informa on on different aspects of coral reef ecology.
Loves the small animals Loves the small animals, of course it is great fun to see a manta, a whale shark or another of the large inhabitants of the sea. However, Bent thinks that smaller species, such as the whitefish fish that clear the parasite from the mantan, the pilot fish that swim before the whale shark and are protected by proximity to the giant, or any of the many small species with an exci ng history behind their existence are even more interes ng. It also means aY Bent never has boring dives, or if it is always possible to find small things and study even on dives where the Giants decide to shine with their absence.

Day 3 We to to to terminal 3 and fly an hour to Dumaguete. On arrival, it is a rela vely short transfer to the resort.

➔ Equipment rental Complete dive equipment rental is available. 12 L tank, weights, belt and air is included in the trip price. All dive rental equipment plus nitrox must be pre-booked through Scuba Travel. All equipment will be paid locally at the dive centre. Please also make sure you bring or rent a dive computer and SMB. ➔ Cancellation Insurance Please make sure you have cancellation insurance. If you do not we can help you to book with ERV insurance. It is available for a cost of 6% of the total trip cost. Must be booked and paid for together will your trip deposit.

➔ Your passport must be whole and valid for more than six months after your arrival back home. We will need a copy of your passport and your home adress so we can help you with a cost free visa to Australia When you fly to Australia you will fill in a form onboard your flight and declare where it’s very important you are honest with what you bring. Australia has really hard rules regarding entry of for example, food, diary products, eat, seeds and nuts and tobacco. If you are not honest when if they decide to open your bags they may either confiscate your items and you can also be given costly penalties or worst case even be denied entry into the country.
➔ All divers must have a dive certificate, dive log book and proof of dive insurance.
➔ For this trip we recommend all divers to be certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent and have a minimum of 50 logged dives. If you have not been diving within one year of your departure we strongly recommend that you complete a scuba review course.
➔ Please make sure that you have a valid insurance which includes scuba diving. If you do not have insurance or need a complement, we strongly recommend you to purchase a diving insurance such as DAN or similar, diversalertnetwork.org.
➔ Due to the ever-increasing restrictions placed on checked- in baggage on flights, overweight/ extra baggage must be reported to and accepted by, the flight company.
