4 Finding Traditional Foods

This directory provides information about food businesses in the Illawarra area – between Kiama and Thirroul - who sell, or can obtain, traditional Sub-Saharan African foods, Asian, Indian or Halal foods. Some Sydney markets have been included.

Ask about traditional foods at your local food businesses as many shops stock or can order traditional foods. Also ask about delivery as many businesses offer a delivery service directly to your home.

Some food businesses, including large supermarkets and other smaller businesses, chose not to be included in this directory, even though they may stock traditional foods.

Many suppliers of traditional foods can be found online. Be sure to repeat your searches regularly as information online frequently changes. Some words to use in your search are:

• Traditional food • African food • Halal food
