Join us as we celebrate the infinite spirit of creativity and the boundless possibilities of storytelling over the next 11 days. As home to the largest public film festival in the world, Toronto sets the perfect stage for the world to embrace the power of cinema. Multicultural, inclusive, and engaging, our city provides a sense of place and belonging for thousands of people who travel across the globe to experience the PIERS HANDLING Festival as one community. Director & TIFF, like Toronto, is a kaleidoscope of diverse people, cultures, and stories woven Chief Executive Ocer into moving images that have the ability to transform, unite, and move us. The form TIFF these stories take continues to evolve — shape-shifting through a multitude of mediums and platforms. Expanding beyond the frame and living within it, cinema oers endless perspectives. The Festival continues to bring you the evolution of storytelling as it travels from film and installations to television and new media, and now into virtual reality. This year we are thrilled to shine the spotlight on Lagos, Nigeria, for our City to City programme. Nigeria has one of the most prolific film industries in the world, with a new generation of ambitious, complex, and bold filmmakers. These burgeoning, electric voices are challenging norms and advancing artistic expression, and we are excited to share Lagos’ boom of inspiring storytellers as part of the Festival’s international cinematic landscape. As we come together to share and experience extraordinary artistic works from around the world, and as Toronto buzzes with visionary artists, industry icons, and MICHÈLE MAHEUX engaged audiences, we wish to thank all those who made it possible: our tireless sta, Executive Director & passionate Volunteers, and dedicated Board of Directors, as well as our generous Chief Operating Ocer donors, Members, sponsors, partners, and supporters who share our commitment in TIFF celebrating the best in moving images. The Festival welcomes you to discover infinite views with us! Outfitting for Mr. Handling & Mr. Bailey provided by Hugo Boss. Outfitting for Ms. Maheux generously provided by Birks, Zanesha Gowrali Designs, Mark Belford Couture and Kala Scarves.
