It is the twenty-eighth bibliography published in the current series of law of the sea bibliographies.1 The bibliography is intended for use by anyone interested in ocean affairs and law of the sea matters, in general, and in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, in particular. Its content is selec- tive and restricted to monographic and periodical literature (excluding official documents of the United Nations), and includes citations of recently published books and articles, primarily in English, French and Spanish. The bibliography is divided into 20 subject categories based mainly on the major topics in the Conven- tion. The books and articles in each category are listed alphabetically by author. Many of the references cited are available in the Law of the Sea Reference Library (room DC2-0430, telephone: (212) 963-3059); and in the Dag Hammarskjöld Library (room L-105, telephone: (212) 963-3000), United Nations Headquarters, New York. 1 See the list of United Nations sales publications in the Law of the Sea series on page 51. iv 1.
